Role Summary

TRATON Financial Services' Internal Audit department is looking for an Audit Data & AI Solutions Engineer to help build the next generation of audit technology.

Internal Audit is the third line of defense. We look for things others may have missed - the proverbial needle in the haystack. Our role is to assess whether controls designed to prevent mistakes, fraud, inefficiency, and regulatory breaches are actually working in practice.

For several years, we have successfully used source-system data, analytics, and dashboards to make audits more targeted and data-driven. Building on that foundation, we are now expanding into AI-enabled audit technology: automating parts of audit sample testing by drawing evidence-based conclusions from documents in multiple languages, identifying unusual assets or transactions, and building dashboards and applications that help auditors focus on what matters most.

You will be part of a small team within Internal Audit that builds the solutions to make this happen. The work spans hands-on data mapping, source-system analysis, Power BI or HTML dashboards, anomaly detection, machine learning, and agentic AI solutions for audit sample testing and document review.

This creates both opportunities and challenges. We can move quickly, test ideas, and learn through short feedback loops with auditors. At the same time, we do not have large predefined frameworks, methods, or roadmaps. We need people who enjoy building things in complex environments, can operate between data, software, AI, and business processes, and can create solutions that are structured, documented, trustworthy, and sustainable.

Job Responsibilities

As Audit Data & AI Solutions Engineer, you will build and maintain data, analytics, automation, and AI solutions that help Internal Audit assess controls and identify anomalies. That includes:

• Retrieving, mapping, validating, and structuring data from source systems across brands and markets
• Building analytics and algorithms to identify anomalies, control weaknesses, unusual transactions, approval issues, collateral risks, or financial crime indicators
• Developing AI-enabled and agentic solutions for document analysis and audit sample testing, including prompts, skills, tools, agent workflows, evaluation logic, and evidence-based outputs
• Creating Power BI, HTML, or other dashboards that present complex findings in a clear and useful way
• Ensuring that algorithms, prompts, data flows, and assumptions are documented and built in a modular way so they can be reused.

Who You Are

We are looking for a fast learner and hands-on builder who has:

• Strong Python and SQL skills
• Comfort using AI tools and coding agents such as Codex, Claude Code, OpenCode, or similar to write, test, debug, and improve code
• Curiosity to understand business processes, controls, audit logic, and what makes an analysis useful in practice
• The ability to turn unclear business problems into working, tested, and maintainable solutions
• Experience building practical technical solutions such as scripts, data tools, dashboards, applications, automations, or analytics workflows
• Strong analytical and debugging skills, including the ability to investigate data quality issues, logic errors, and unexpected results
• A structured approach to documentation, testing, version control, and reusable code
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.

It is an advantage if you have experience with:

• Power BI, data modelling, DAX, Power Query, or code-based Power BI development
• Machine learning, anomaly detection, exception reporting, or process monitoring
• LLM applications, document analysis, agents, RAG, prompt/context engineering, tool use, skills, OCR, JSON, APIs, or workflow applications
• Additional languages, data visualization, financial services, audit, risk, compliance, or controls.
