Platform Engineer - Application Platform

We are continuing to strengthen our platform engineering capabilities and are now looking for a Senior Platform Engineer who wants to play a key role in developing and modernising our Application Platform.

This is an opportunity to work hands-on with modern platform technologies and help build the foundations that enable application teams to deliver software efficiently, securely, and at scale. The platform is built on Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies, making Kubernetes expertise a key requirement for the role.

Your role

As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will be part of the team responsible for our Application Platform. The platform provides the capabilities, tooling, and services that enable development teams across the organisation to build, deploy, and operate applications efficiently and securely. Kubernetes is a core technology within the platform, and you will work extensively with the design, development, operation, and evolution of Kubernetes-based platform capabilities.

You will work with both existing and future platform services, focusing on automation, reliability, scalability, security, and developer experience. The role combines software-oriented infrastructure engineering with platform development and offers significant opportunities to influence the technical direction of our platform ecosystem.

Working closely with architects, developers, security specialists, and other engineering teams, you will help build and improve platform services that are secure, scalable, and easy to consume through self-service capabilities and well-defined interfaces.

Key responsibilities

Design, build, and evolve the organisation's Application Platform

Develop and maintain Kubernetes-based platform capabilities

Create self-service solutions and reusable platform services for development teams

Drive automation initiatives and Infrastructure as Code practices

Improve platform reliability, scalability, observability, and security

Build and maintain tooling, integrations, and platform capabilities that enhance developer experience

Contribute to the design and implementation of future platform services and architectures

Support application teams adopting and consuming platform capabilities

Participate in platform modernisation and migration initiatives

Collaborate with architects and stakeholders to align platform capabilities with technical and business needs

Contribute to the platform roadmap and continuous improvement activities

Your profile

We are looking for someone who is passionate about platform engineering and enjoys building capabilities that enable other teams to be successful. You have a strong technical foundation, an automation-first mindset, and an interest in creating scalable and reusable solutions.

Required

Several years of experience as a Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, or similar

Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container platforms

Experience designing, building, and operating platform services

Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation tools

Experience working in Linux-based environments

Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices

Experience operating and improving business-critical platforms or services

Knowledge of cloud-native technologies and platform engineering principles

Strong communication skills in both Swedish and English

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience

Preferred

Experience building or working with Internal Developer Platforms (IDP)

Experience working in hybrid Kubernetes environments

Experience with observability, monitoring, and platform security

Experience driving platform modernisation or migration initiatives

Experience from large or complex organisations

This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
