About this opportunity:

Information and communication technology continues to transform how people live, work, and access services. Emerging technologies such as 6G, the Internet of Things, augmented reality, artificial intelligence, digital twins, and cloud services will enable new experiences for consumers and enterprises.

At Ericsson's Consumer & Industry Lab, you will explore future technology for consumers, enterprises, and a more sustainable society. This thesis will investigate the network capabilities and user-perceived quality needed to support context-aware spatial experiences on AI/AR glasses.

What you will do:

• Identify key network features, performance thresholds, and challenges in defining end-user Quality of Experience (QoE) for selected AI/AR glasses use cases.
• Consider whether biometric measurements could be relevant to the scope.
• Develop a feasibility report that answers the research question and proposes suitable ways to measure QoE for the selected use case(s).
• Conduct user tests to measure QoE and document the results in the final report.

The skills you bring:



We are looking for a candidate who:

• Is analytical, curious, and open-minded.
• Is fluent in written and spoken English.
• Is a master's student with strong academic performance.
• Has good knowledge of Unity, Unreal, OpenXR, Android XR, and AR/VR programming.
• Has experience developing applications for Meta Quest headsets or working with AR glasses; this is an advantage.
• Has experience working with leading AI services such as GPT and Claude, or other AI tools and devices; this is an advantage.
• Has practical experience with qualitative and quantitative research methods and data analysis.
• Has a strong interest in interdisciplinary research spanning both business and technology.

The project is planned to start in spring 2027.
