About this opportunity:

Ericsson shapes the future through technology leadership and provides innovative solutions in more than 180 countries. We are involved in advanced antenna systems for 5G and LTE evolution, focusing on antenna systemization for overall system performance, verification technologies, and over-the-air testing of advanced/active antenna systems.

We are now offering interesting Master Thesis opportunities, where you will work with our senior staff on challenging problems at the intersection of antenna technology and digitalization, with opportunities to contribute to real-world applications. As a thesis student, you'll contribute to innovative projects that push technology forward, with AI/ML approaches suggested in most topics.

What you will do:

The work generally includes a literature review, development of novel methods, validation, and preparation of a formal thesis report.
  • Investigate a selected thesis topic related to antenna systemization, advanced antenna design, or the development of sophisticated test methods for antenna systems. Multiple topics are available to be agreed on for the thesis.
  • Propose and apply innovative approaches using digitalization technologies to enhance spatial measurement capabilities as outlined in the agreed thesis scope.
  • Validate the proposed methods through simulations or measurements based on the thesis plan.
  • Document and present your findings in a detailed thesis report.


The skills you will bring:
  • Enrollment in a Master's program in Engineering Physics, Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Preferred: Coursework in Antenna Technology.
  • Good knowledge of Electromagnetic field theory.
  • Experience with AI/ML.
  • Experience programming in Python, MATLAB, Java, or similar.

Additional desirable knowledge: RF measurement techniques, video signal processing, or related areas.

This thesis is suitable for one or two persons and offers the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects that push the boundaries of technology and deliver high value in the field of mobile communications.
