Role Summary

This role is a part of TRATON Group R&D, located in Södertälje, Sweden

Are you an engineer with a strong interest in programming and vehicles? Then you might be the one we're looking for!

We are looking for someone who is service-oriented and enjoys combining theory, practice, and problem-solving. As a developer here, or as we call them: Method Engineer, you will be responsible for diagnostic and troubleshooting support for TRATON's products, with a primary focus on one or more areas such as electrified vehicles or cab systems including autonomous solutions. TRATON includes Scania, MAN, International, and Volkswagen Truck & Bus.

Job Responsibilities

To make our workshop tool usable across all TRATON brands, we are expanding one of our teams - Powertrain Diagnostic, TGROSVP:

  • Your role involves developing diagnostic and troubleshooting support in close collaboration with system and function owners. As a diagnostic method engineer, you are the voice of the mechanics in development projects, and your deliveries have a direct impact on their daily work, which is crucial for the profitability of both TRATON and our customers.
  • You will develop diagnostic methods, implement and test them on rigs and in vehicles. You will operate at the intersection of mechatronics, software development, and business decisions.
  • Our new cloud-based troubleshooting tool, the Workshop Suite, presents great opportunities to work with system developers to improve the mechanics' daily work. You will help take troubleshooting support on this new platform to the next level!

Who You Are

To succeed in this role, you need to be driven, curious, proactive, and quality-conscious. Since the role involves many interfaces, you should be good at networking and building relationships, be attentive, and understand what is important to the customer. You are structured and good at prioritizing and planning your work.

We hire for attitude and train for competence!

Requirements for this role:

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in mechatronics, mechanical engineering, or a similar field, or experience working with system development, vehicle systems, or programming.
  • Strong interest in or curiosity about programming.
  • Minimum category B driver's license.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Fluent in Swedish is a merit.
  • Since we are working with the powertrain mainly, knowledge about fuel system, aftertreatment systems or brake system is valuable.
  • Hands-on experience with vehicles or previous work at TRATON or Scania or other brands is a plus.

We welcome applicants from all backgrounds - your unique experience and perspectives is valuable to us.
