Job Description
Our client is seeking a Test Engineer to join the Alarm & Tailgate engineering team, focusing on the verification and validation of Tailgate-related functions within automotive systems. This role involves planning, coordinating, and executing comprehensive testing activities across software, electronics, and hardware domains.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining test cases, performing both manual and automated testing, investigating faults, analyzing logs and measurements, and ensuring high-quality deliverables throughout the validation process. The position requires close collaboration with requirement owners, suppliers, function owners, and system stakeholders to support product quality and successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Define and coordinate test activities, test environments, equipment requirements, and Device Under Test (DUT) readiness in collaboration with requirement owners and suppliers.
Perform component-level, domain-level, and complete system verification activities using Rig, Boxcar, Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL), and vehicle-based test environments.
Design, develop, and maintain test methods and test cases utilizing tools such as CarWeaver and vTestStudio.
Prepare detailed test plans, create test scripts, and coordinate testing schedules to ensure efficient execution.
Execute both automated and manual validation activities while ensuring compliance with defined acceptance criteria.
Investigate software and hardware issues through fault tracing, signal analysis, data logging, and measurement activities.
Generate fault reports and actively support root cause analysis together with system owners, function owners, and suppliers.
Review supplier test reports, validate findings, and communicate results to relevant stakeholders.
Develop and maintain automation scripts and support integration into Continuous Integration (CI) environments.
Utilize measurement instruments and diagnostic tools to evaluate component behavior, actuator performance, and signal integrity.
Ensure all test documentation, reports, and administrative deliverables are maintained accurately and kept up to date.
Required Experience
Experience in automated verification and validation of software and system designs.
Hands-on experience with fault tracing, system testing, and test automation activities.
Experience working with component, subsystem, and complete vehicle verification processes.
Familiarity with Continuous Integration (CI) environments and automated testing workflows.
Education
Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
