How you will make an impact:

Be part of a team that ensures world-class banknote and substrate production consistently meets the highest customer expectations. As the key quality interface between Crane and external partners, you will translate customer requirements into clear, controlled standards and oversee that all outsourced production fully aligns with Crane's commitments, quality standards, and customer needs. Working closely with Supply Chain and Sales, you'll play a vital role in driving customer satisfaction while fostering a strong, quality-focused culture across partner sites. In your role as a Substrate Supply Quality Engineer you will:

• Participate in bid, quotation, and contract management processes to ensure customer quality expectations are clearly defined
• Ensure accurate and complete transfer of product and quality requirements to partners
• Coordinate with Crane OPS and cross-functional teams as required
• Plan and conduct quality approvals and audits at partner manufacturing sites
• Drive root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions using tools such as 8D, 5-Why, DMAIC, PFMEA, MSA, control plans, and QIP
• Monitor supplier performance and product conformity
• Escalate quality or risk concerns through appropriate leadership channels
• Promote collaborative relationships with internal teams, partner sites, and other Crane Currency locations

Knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role:
Required:

• Master's degree in Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Quality Management, or similar discipline.
• Minimum of five (5) years' experience in manufacturing or quality management

Strong understanding of quality engineering disciplines, including:

• Quality data collection and analysis
• Statistical methods (SPC, DOE, Gage R&R, sampling techniques)
• Measurement and inspection methods
• Documentation of product properties and requirements
• Experience in global, cross-cultural, multi-site environments

Language:

• Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills
• Strong verbal and written skills in English
• Fluent in spoken and written English
• Additional languages are an advantage

IT:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Experience with SharePoint and ERP systems (e.g., JDE, IFS, SAP)

Preferred:

• Specialized training in quality engineering or supplier quality management.
• Experience in banknote substrate, printing, or high-security document industries

The role is expected to be a skilled project manager and have technical substance matter expertise. Travelling is expected up to 40-60%.
