Job description

The division of Transport & Systems Analysis at the Department of Urban Planning and Environment at KTH is looking for a researcher to join its dynamic and diverse team. This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative solutions for sustainable future transportation, with a particular focus on on-demand mobility services. The project will focus on policy design and evaluation through activity-based agent-based simulation tools like MATSim or similar platforms.

Qualifications

Requirements
  • A doctoral degree in transport research or another related field.
  • Strong programming (e.g., Python, JAVA, C) and data analysis skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Research expertise.
  • The ability to work towards research results being utilised in practice.
  • The ability to inform about research and development work.
  • Knowledge of diversity and equal opportunity issues, with specific focus on gender equality.
  • Collaborative abilities.
  • Independence.

Preferred qualifications
  • Documented experience with activity-based agent-based transport modelling (e.g., MATSim).
  • Strong writing ability shown through academic publications and reports
  • Interest in tackling emerging transportation challenges and a passion for making transport more sustainable.
  • Teaching ability.
  • Experience of developing and leading activities and staff.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal skills.

About the employment

The employment is valid for a limited time according to the agreement - for up to 12 months, with access according to agreement.
