Kubernetes Platform Engineer

Nordic Investin is recruiting a Kubernetes Platform Engineer on behalf of one of our partner companies. You enjoy making Kubernetes boring in production, even when the workloads and organisational boundaries are anything but simple.

The partner operates container platforms used by several engineering teams. You will strengthen cluster reliability, developer workflows and platform security while reducing the specialist knowledge required for routine delivery.

The platform is treated as a service used by engineers and business teams. Success will be measured through safer change, lower operational friction and clearer ownership rather than the number of tools introduced.

How you will work

The work combines planned platform development with investigation of real production behaviour. You will collaborate with application teams, security and operations, using their feedback to decide what should become a shared service, an automated control or clear documentation. Ownership continues after the first release.

As a senior colleague, you will own substantial outcomes and help others make stronger decisions. You are expected to recognise risk early, communicate it without drama and move work forward with practical alternatives. The role still includes hands on delivery; seniority here means broader judgement, not distance from the work.

What you will do

Build and operate Kubernetes platforms in cloud or hybrid environments.

Automate cluster lifecycle, add ons and policy management.

Create deployment templates and self service workflows.

Improve ingress, networking, secrets and workload identity.

Develop monitoring and capacity management practices.

Support incidents and convert lessons into platform improvements.

What you will bring

Production Kubernetes administration and engineering experience.

Strong Linux, networking and container fundamentals.

Infrastructure as code and GitOps delivery.

Experience with observability and incident response.

Scripting or software development in Python, Go or similar.

Ability to work as an internal platform consultant.

Experience that would add value

Service mesh or advanced network policy.

OpenShift, AKS, EKS or GKE at scale.

Platform engineering portals and golden paths.

A background that can succeed here

Your background could be SRE, cloud engineering, Linux operations or backend development. You are interested in the behaviours of the entire platform and can distinguish a useful abstraction from one that hides critical information.
