Our client, who is a global and world leading actor within their domain, strongly believe in the long-term sustainability of HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) technology. This technology facilitates energy transfer with direct current at high voltages, making it suitable for transmitting energy over long distances and connecting electricity networks with minimal losses. In addition to energy transfer, HVDC technology addresses electricity quality issues and contributes to the stabilization of connected power grids. For offshore wind power or long-distance underwater transmissions, direct current is the most realistic energy transmission alternative.
In Ludvika, you will become part of an international team that is now strengthening its competence within IT/OT infrastructure. With several upcoming projects, there is a growing need for modern, secure and scalable infrastructure solutions.

About the role

As an IT/OT Infrastructure Engineer, you will take on a hands-on technical role where you will work with the setup, configuration and maintenance of infrastructure solutions used within an industrial OT environment.

A key part of the role is working with Active Directory, access control and virtualized environments. You will be involved in setting up and running virtual machines, configuring secure remote access and ensuring that the infrastructure meets relevant cybersecurity and hardening requirements.

The team is moving away from legacy solutions towards a more modern IT/OT infrastructure. You will therefore have an important role in building and developing solutions that can be used across several upcoming projects.

This is a role for someone who enjoys working practically with technology and is comfortable taking ownership of technical questions. Since this competence is being strengthened within the team, you should have enough experience to become independent relatively quickly while collaborating closely with colleagues and stakeholders in an international environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up, configure and maintain IT/OT infrastructure for different projects
• Configure and maintain Active Directory, user access and access control
• Set up and manage virtual machines and virtualized environments
• Work with virtualization technologies such as Hyper-V and Proxmox
• Configure and support secure remote access solutions
• Apply cybersecurity and system hardening principles
• Work with syslog, logging and monitoring of infrastructure
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related technical issues
• Support the transition from legacy solutions to modern infrastructure platforms
• Collaborate with internal teams and technical stakeholders in international projects
• Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of infrastructure solutions and ways of working

Personal qualities

We are looking for someone who is confident in their technical competence and enjoys taking a hands-on approach to solving problems. You are comfortable taking ownership of your work and can independently move technical questions forward.

Since the role includes collaboration across teams, projects and countries, you also have strong communication skills and feel comfortable discussing technical topics with different stakeholders. You are structured, solution-oriented and curious, with an interest in understanding both the technical details and the wider infrastructure environment.

Qualifications

• Relevant educational background within IT, computer science, systems engineering or a related technical field, combined with hands-on experience within IT infrastructure, systems engineering or a similar area
• Strong practical experience with Active Directory, access control and server infrastructure
• Experience working with virtualized environments and technologies such as Hyper-V, Proxmox, VMware or similar technologies
• Good understanding of IT security and infrastructure concepts, including system hardening, secure remote access, logging and monitoring
• Very good command of English, both spoken and written
• Ability and willingness to travel internationally as part of the role

Meritorious

• Previous experience in IT/OT, industrial environments, data centers or other critical infrastructure
• Experience with networking and data center infrastructure
• Knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written

Technical competence is highly important for this position, but you do not necessarily need to have experience with every technology listed above. A strong foundation within IT infrastructure, combined with the ability and motivation to learn new environments, is equally valuable.

Other information

Location: Ludvika

Travel: Approximately 30%, primarily within Europe, including Germany, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands

Start: As soon as possible or according to agreement

Working hours: Full-time, weekdays during daytime

Employment: You will work as a consultant through A-hub for 12 months, with the ambition of transitioning to direct employment with our client thereafter
