What We Are Looking For

We are looking for a service-minded and proactive Head Waiter who is passionate about creating outstanding guest experiences and helping the team succeed together. Until June, you will also take on additional responsibilities within the Food & Beverage department, serving as an important support in the daily operation of the restaurant and related outlets.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the daily operations of the restaurant and service team.

Ensure guests receive professional, personalized, and high-quality service.

Plan and coordinate service during breakfast, lunch, dinner, banquets, and special events.

Be operational in the restaurant and support the team whenever needed.

Motivate, develop, and follow up on waitstaff and other team members.

Ensure compliance with company procedures, quality standards, and health & safety regulations.

Manage table reservations, guest feedback, and special requests.

Contribute to upselling initiatives and help maximize departmental profitability.

Work closely with the kitchen, front office, and other departments to create seamless guest experiences.

Participate in the training and onboarding of new employees while promoting a positive work environment.

Ensure high standards of presentation, table settings, and event execution.

The majority of the position will involve evening shifts, although some daytime shifts may be required based on operational needs.

Skills

We are looking for a confident and service-oriented leader who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment. The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and qualities:

Previous experience as a Head Waiter, Restaurant Supervisor, or similar leadership role within hospitality

Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop team members

Excellent guest service and communication skills

Ability to stay organized and maintain a calm, professional attitude during busy service periods

Strong understanding of food, beverages, wine service, and restaurant operations

Ability to work independently and make sound decisions when needed

Flexible, solution-oriented, and proactive approach to daily operations

Strong attention to detail and commitment to high service standards

Experience with staff scheduling, training, and operational planning is an advantage

Good understanding of health, safety, and hygiene regulations

Language Requirements

Fluency in a Scandinavian language (Norwegian, Swedish, or Danish) is required

Good English communication skills, both spoken and written

Salary:

Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience, and level of responsibility. As part of the Norwegian hospitality industry, Kragerø Resort follows the collective agreements (tariff agreements) applicable to the hotel and restaurant sector.

The salary range for this position is typically ?3,227 - ?3,622 gross per month, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to the base salary, employees may be eligible for supplements according to the collective agreement, including:

Evening shift supplements

Night shift supplements

Weekend supplements

Holiday pay and other tariff-regulated benefits
