About the role

As Customs Specialist, you will support the correct and compliant handling of VAROPreem's customs processes in Sweden. You will work with customs declarations, documentation, post-clearance controls, authorisation requirements, and operational support to the business.

You will collaborate with colleagues across the organisation as well as with customs brokers and other stakeholders. The role also provides an opportunity to contribute to training activities and improvements to processes and business systems affecting customs and tax reporting.

This is a temporary position covering a period of parental leave. It offers an excellent opportunity to develop your customs expertise and gain practical experience across different customs processes and systems in an international business environment.

Key responsibilities

• Review customs declarations and perform post-clearance controls.

• Support the correct handling of the Group's customs processes.

• Contribute to maintaining customs procedures in accordance with the applicable AEO requirements.

• Report deviations from the company Tax Policy.

• Support the monitoring of compliance with customs authorisation requirements.

• Coordinate with customs brokers to help ensure the quality of their deliveries.

• Provide operational customs support to colleagues across the business.

• Contribute to customs-related training, process improvements, system development projects, and testing activities .

Requirements

We believe you bring:

• Customs specialist education or equivalent knowledge.

• An interest in customs processes, customs declarations, documentation, and regulatory requirements.

• Up to three years of experience from an administrative role.

• The ability to communicate clearly in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.

• The ability to plan and organise your work and gather the information needed to complete assigned tasks.

• Experience from logistics or shipping, including customs documentation, is considered an advantage.

• Experience with customs declaration systems or M3 ERP is also beneficial but not required.

You work in a structured and careful manner and understand the importance of accuracy when handling documentation and regulatory requirements. You plan and prioritise your work effectively, follow tasks through, and maintain quality even when handling several activities at the same time.

Collaboration comes naturally to you, and you communicate clearly and respectfully with colleagues and other stakeholders. You are comfortable asking questions, requesting additional information, and drawing attention to discrepancies when something does not appear correct.

You are also curious and motivated to learn. You take an active interest in understanding new customs processes, systems, and requirements, and you use feedback as an opportunity to develop. As VAROPreem operates within critical infrastructure, a background screening as well as alcohol and drug testing will be conducted prior to any employment offer. During the interview process, candidates must be able to present a valid form of identification, such as a passport or national identity card, alternatively a population registration certificate together with a valid driving licence.

As parts of VAROPreem's operations are subject to security-sensitive regulations, a security clearance, including a background check through official registers, may be required depending on the position.
