Beskrivning
As a Gameplay Engineer at Embark, you will work on THE FINALS, alongside some of the most talented people in the games industry. We believe that great games are made in creative environments, where builds are always playable, and teams can move fast and test as many ideas as possible. In close collaboration with our designers, you will build easy-to-use systems that enable us to iterate quickly and that encourage experimentation.
The games we're making are built in Unreal, using C++, blueprints and a scripting language called Angelscript. This role spans both content and the systems underneath it. You'll work on features players feel directly, as well as performance, tooling, architecture and networking. We care about building things once and building them well, and we keep pushing to make what's built for one part of the game useful to whoever needs it next. You'll have experienced engineers around you to learn from, and room to grow into ownership of complex problems.
Examples of responsibilities
Collaborate with a wide range of talents at Embark to deliver multi-platform technical solutions that create fun gameplay for our players
Help the team debug and fix complex issues
Build tech that increases the productivity of our daily work
Take technical ownership of features and systems in the game - both the ones players interact with directly and the ones that quietly make everything else possible
Work with production and design to scope and plan your work, and keep it visible as it moves
Help us keep a live game healthy and fast to iterate on
Requirements
Strong background in C++
Proven experience in computer science fundamentals and software architecture
A good grasp of what good gameplay looks and feels like
A passion for game systems and a desire to contribute across the gameplay codebase
Nice to haves
Experience with Unreal Engine (C++, Blueprints), or another engine, in a commercial environment
Experience with Angelscript (or similar scripting languages)
Previously worked with first-person or competitive shooters
Full-cycle game development experience, from pre-production through launch and into live ops with regular releases.
Experience across related engineering domains (backend, engine, performance, or tools)
At Embark we offer competitive salaries, passionate colleagues to share knowledge with and much more, but most of all we invite you to take part of a journey into the unknown, to build creative, surprising and beautiful experiences together.
Be yourself at Embark and make games while doing so. Please apply with confidence. We can't wait to hear from you (in English)!
