The Challenge
With the market transitioning away from legacy monoliths, Excel spreadsheets and home-grown has-beens, the TimeEdit Engineering team plays a pivotal role in defining the next generation of digital tools for universities across the globe to use. To accelerate our growth journey, we are looking for a Backend Developer to join our team and help develop our core plattform to a new level.
The Role
As a Backend Developer at TimeEdit, you will:
Your Day-to-day
As a Backend Developer at TimeEdit you will be a part of an empowered engineering team existing of an Engineering Manager and two Software Engineers. Together you will take on the responsibility of driving our core plattform to better functionality and a new modern architecture. You will also work in collaboration with our Ops-team with IaC and our usage of GCP.

- Contribute and develop new functionality to the existing C++ code base.
- Move C++-based functionality to new architecture written in Node.js and TypeScript.
- Act as a bridge between the C++ and JavaScript code to be able to continue our long term journey towards microservices.
- Be part of a larger Engineering team delivering cutting edge. EdTech SaaS solutions to ~1 000 000 daily users.

Skills & Requirements

- Have 3+ years experience with C++ and JavaScript.
- A strong understanding of modern web development, architecture and microservices.
- Are confident in your technical abilities and can effectively argue in favor of your ideas and decisions,
but still humble enough to give in when someone has a better idea. - Great communication skills; fluent in English, verbal and written.
