Business Development Manager - Microwave Instruments

Gothenburg, Sweden

About the Role

AAC Omnisys is seeking a Business Development Manager - Microwave Instruments to drive business growth with institutional and government customers within the international space sector.

In this role, you will engage with organizations such as ESA, EUMETSAT, ESO, national space agencies, meteorological organizations, and research institutes to identify future opportunities and translate customer needs into compelling business cases and proposals.

Working closely with our engineering team, you will help shape future instrument concepts, influence upcoming programs, identify and mature new business opportunities, and lead the development of competitive proposals for next-generation Earth observation and meteorological missions.

This position is based in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain relationships with institutional customers, including space agencies, meteorological organizations, and research institutes.

Identify and qualify new business opportunities aligned with AAC Omnisys' technology roadmap.

Engage with customers to understand future mission needs, technical requirements, and program plans.

Translate customer needs into business opportunities and proposal activities.

Monitor and assess Invitations to Tender (ITTs) and other procurement opportunities.

Lead and coordinate proposals and bid activities in collaboration with engineering and management teams.

Represent AAC Omnisys at industry conferences, workshops, and customer meetings.

Support market analysis and long-term business development activities.

Qualifications

Degree in Engineering, Physics, Space Systems, Meteorology, Remote Sensing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Proven experience in business development, technical sales, account management, capture management, or other customer-facing commercial roles.

Experience working with institutional, governmental, or publicly funded customers.

Ability to engage confidently with scientists, engineers, program managers, and procurement stakeholders.

Experience developing bids and proposals for institutional or public-sector procurements.

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Proficiency in Microsoft 365.

Desirable Experience

Experience with microwave radiometers, atmospheric sounding instruments, or Earth observation payloads.

Familiarity with ESA, EUMETSAT, ESO, ECMWF, SNSA, the Met Office, or similar organizations.

Experience in business development, technical sales, account management, or opportunity development within the space sector.

Understanding of institutional procurement processes and the life cycles of future space programs.
