We are currently looking for a System Test Engineer – HIL to join us in developing world-class test methods. In this role, you will be part of a collaborative team responsible for designing, maintaining, and executing automated HIL tests. You will contribute to a global environment where colleagues and customers from diverse backgrounds come together, bringing different perspectives to achieve shared goals.

The position is based in our Underground division in Örebro, just a short distance from the city center, with easy access to nature and training facilities. You will work in modern premises within an Activity Based Workplace environment. We also have facilities in Kvarntorp, about 20 km south of Örebro, including a workshop, test track, and test mine.
Your mission
As a System Test Engineer within HIL, you will develop and improve automated test methods for the HIL environment using tools such as Python/Pytest, NI Veristand, and Vector CANalyzer.
You will review and analyze requirement specifications from a testing perspective, ensuring that test coverage is both effective and efficient.
Part of your role will involve reviewing existing test methods with a focus on automation and continuous improvement.
You will document HIL tests through clear and structured test specifications and reports, supporting software releases for both Material Handling and Drilling machines.
During testing, you will identify, report, and help track bugs and issues, contributing to high product quality.
You will also work with plant models to simulate mechanics, drivetrain, hydraulics, and electrical systems, supporting realistic and reliable testing environments.
Your profile
We believe you are a motivated and self-driven person who enjoys taking ownership of your work and planning effectively to meet deadlines.
You have a holistic mindset and can understand complex systems, while also being comfortable diving into technical details when needed.
Collaboration is a natural part of how you work, and you communicate clearly and confidently with different stakeholders, ensuring that your message is well understood.
You hold a B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, and have around 2–5 years of relevant experience.
Experience in test automation is considered an advantage.
You have knowledge of communication interfaces such as CAN Open and CAN J1939 used in real-time systems, along with programming skills, preferably in Python.
Experience with Vector CANalyzer and/or NI Veristand, as well as working in product development including verification and validation, will help you succeed in this role.
You bring strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, along with a clear focus on testing and quality assurance.
You are fluent in English, as it is our corporate language and used in both written and spoken communication.

This role is based in Fagersta, Sweden.
