Beskrivning

The University of Gothenburg tackles society's challenges with diverse knowledge. 58 000 students and 6800 employees make the university a large and inspiring place to work and study. Strong research and attractive study programmes attract researchers and students from around the world. With new knowledge and new perspectives, the University contributes to a better future.

Would you like to gain hands-on experience of working with an international HRM research project?

From September to December, the Center for Global HRM will conduct the Swedish part of the Cranet Survey, an international survey of HR policies and practices conducted in around 40 countries. To support the data collection, we are looking for two student workers for temporary positions during this period.

Each position corresponds to approximately one month of full-time work, distributed over four months (around 25% from September to December).

Duties

Position 1: Data management

The main focus of this position is to support the technical preparation, administration and management of the survey and its data. Tasks will include:
  • Preparing and administering the survey in Qualtrics
  • Contributing to the development of automated feedback reports for survey respondents
  • Creating and maintaining a database for reminders and possible future surveys
  • Preparing and transferring survey data to SPSS
  • Other tasks related to survey administration and data management

The position requires good data management skills. Previous experience of working with Qualtrics is highly desirable, and familiarity with SPSS is an advantage.

Position 2: Communication and survey recruitment

The main focus of this position is to help us reach potential respondents and encourage participation in the survey. Tasks will include:
  • Identifying relevant potential respondents
  • Contacting and communicating with HR professionals
  • Following up contacts and encouraging survey participation
  • Contributing to communication and visibility for the survey, including through LinkedIn
  • Other tasks related to respondent recruitment and survey communication

The position requires good communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively in both Swedish and English.

What do we offer?

As a student worker, you will have the opportunity to work closely with the research team behind the Swedish Cranet Survey, led by Professor Stefan Tengblad at the Center for Global HRM. You will gain insight into how a large-scale international research project is organised and conducted and may also have opportunities for contact with Cranet research teams in other countries.

The project also provides an excellent opportunity for students interested in writing a Master's thesis using Cranet data. Student workers will have the possibility to explore thesis projects based on the survey data, including collaboration with a thesis partner.

The Swedish results from the survey will be reported during 2027. This is expected to generate further opportunities for student work related to the preparation of reports and other communication of results in both Swedish and English.

Please send your CV + short expression of interest in the position and why you think you can add value to the project to stefan.tengblad@gu.se by August 25. In your application, please indicate whether you are primarily interested in Data Management or Communication and Survey Recruitment.
