Beskrivning

Turn complex physics and AI into products engineers actually use. Bridge simulation, software and industrial processes to change how engineers understand and optimize production.

At GREEN14, we are building a new generation of simulation technology for complex industrial processes.

Our team combines multiphysics models, machine learning and experimental process data to understand systems such as plasma reactors and high-temperature metallurgical processes.

We can build sophisticated models and fast surrogates. But for that technology to matter outside a research environment, a process engineer needs to be able to use it.

That is where you come in.

WHAT WE ARE BUILDING

GREEN14 started five years ago with a mission to help Europe develop emission-free production of critical raw materials using hydrogen plasma.

Today, we operate a full-scale plasma reactor in Stockholm. Alongside it, we have built capabilities in multiphysics simulation, AI and surrogate modelling.

Our ambition is to connect experiments, physics, simulation, surrogate models and optimization into a continuous learning process, and make that capability accessible to the engineer actually running the process.

Imagine an engineer trying to understand why yield has changed, how temperature is distributed inside a reactor, what happens if gas flow increases, or which operating parameters could produce a desired output.

They should not need to understand our solver architecture or write Python. They should be able to explore the process.

That is the product we want you to help us build.

YOUR ROLE

You will sit between simulation, software, product and industrial process engineering.

You will own much of how engineers interact with our technology: how they change process parameters, run scenarios, inspect simulation results, compare operating conditions and use models to make better decisions.

That requires more than frontend engineering.

You need to understand what the simulation represents, what matters to the engineer using it and how complex physical behaviour can be presented in an intuitive way.

You will work directly with our simulation and AI researchers, process engineers and industrial partners. Your job is to connect those worlds.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Build interactive software for simulation, visualization and industrial process analysis.
  • Turn complex simulation outputs into intuitive visualizations.
  • Build interfaces for manipulating parameters, running scenarios and comparing results.
  • Define workflows from process problem and inputs to simulation, exploration and decision-making.
  • Connect applications to simulation and ML backends through APIs.
  • Build reusable components and application architecture for different simulation products.
  • Work with our simulation team to understand the underlying physics and how it should be exposed to users.
  • Help turn internal research tools into software industrial engineers want to use.

WHO YOU ARE

You are a strong software engineer who cares about both technical quality and whether the software actually solves a problem.

We are particularly interested in experience with:
  • React, TypeScript or a comparable modern stack.
  • Interactive and data-heavy applications.
  • Scientific, engineering or time-series visualization.
  • APIs and computational backends.
  • Application architecture and production software development.

Experience with Python, FastAPI, WebGL, Three.js, scientific visualization, Docker or cloud infrastructure is useful. Experience building software for engineering, scientific or industrial users is particularly valuable.

But technology is only part of the role.

THE KIND OF PERSON WE ARE LOOKING FOR

You do not need to be a plasma physicist, but you do need to want to understand the process.

If an engineer tells you that pressure drop suddenly increases after twenty minutes, your first instinct should not only be to ask how we visualize the data. You should want to understand why.

What changed? What does the model say? Which variables matter? What can the operator control?

You enjoy talking to scientists and process engineers and asking questions until you understand the real problem.

Then you ask:

How do we turn everything we know into something this engineer can actually use?

That is the mindset we are looking for.

WHY GREEN14

Many software engineers building scientific products are several steps removed from the physical system their software represents.

Here, the reactor is downstairs.

You can talk to the person operating it, look at the experimental data, speak to the scientist modelling it and then build the software connecting those pieces.

Our current work is focused on plasma and high-temperature metallurgy, but our ambition is broader. We want to help engineers understand, optimize and scale complex industrial processes.

HOW WE WORK

You will join a team of serious engineers and scientists who care deeply about getting things right.

We are international, curious and direct. We challenge each other's thinking, share what we know and change our minds when the data tells us to.

There is very little hierarchy and no room for corporate politics. Good ideas matter more than titles.

We are ambitious, but low on ego. We help each other get better because the problems we are solving are genuinely hard.

We work hard, but flexibly, and value having a life outside work.

THE PRACTICAL STUFF

Compensation consists of salary and pension together with qualified employee stock options.

We are based at Sweden's leading technical university, close to central Stockholm. We want the people building our products close to the reactor, experiments and engineers using them.

If you want to turn sophisticated physics and AI into software that helps engineers make better decisions about real industrial processes, we would like to hear from you.

The position will remain open until we find the right person.
