Senior Software Engineer - Android

We are looking for an experienced Android Engineer for a customer in Stockholm for a fixed period assignment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain the release of the Android app on the main Stores

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features

• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of the app

• Debug complex technical issues and identify solutions to improve the app

• Stay up-to-date with new technologies and trends in Android development

• Write clean, maintainable, and scalable code

• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards

• Contribute to the technical design and architecture of the app

• Participate in the full software development life cycle, including planning, development, testing, and deployment.

Essential skills and experience (must have)

• 5+ years of overall experience with Android development

• Advanced knowledge of programming using Kotlin

• Deep understanding and several years of hands-on experience in Android application development (architectures, design, tools, SDKs), asynchronous server communication, and UX optimization

• Experience in debugging and troubleshooting complex systems

• Leading, planning, and executing the development of core features and modules for Android applications

• Ability to navigate and research requirements in the scope of a big cross-functional team

• Ability to dive into complicated, unique problems, find a clear path forward, and drive the work to a successful conclusion.

• Experience in agile development

• Fluent English skills, oral and written

Good to have skills

• Experience with automation testing

• Experience with in-house device farm

• Familiarity with automation tools like GitHub Actions and Fastlane

• Experience with mentoring and onboarding junior team members

This is an onsite opportunity with the client and 5 days work from office in Stockholm.
