We’re recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager to join the client-side team on a major 200MW hyperscale data centre programme in Gavle, Sweden.
This is a senior commercial opportunity working directly alongside the client team on a large-scale, mission-critical project, with responsibility across cost management, contracts, valuations, change and commercial reporting.
About the Role
Reporting into the QS/ Cost Lead, you’ll take responsibility for the commercial management of the project, working closely with the client, main contractor, subcontractors and wider project team.
You’ll oversee commercial performance across CSA and MEP packages, ensuring costs, variations, valuations, contractual obligations and commercial risks are effectively managed throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day cost and contract management across the project
Act as a key commercial interface between the client, main contractor and subcontractors
Review and assess monthly valuations, payment applications and progress claims
Lead change and variation management, assessing cost, scope, risk and programme impact
Review contractor commercial submissions and ensure costs are properly substantiated
Maintain live cost reports, commercial registers, change logs and financial forecasts
Monitor contractual obligations, commercial risks and potential exposure
Work closely with project controls, design, construction and commissioning teams
Support commercial negotiations and resolution of contractual/commercial issues
Provide clear commercial reporting and advice to the wider client team
What We’re Looking For
Strong Cost Manager / Commercial Manager / Senior QS background within major construction projects
Ideally 2+ years’ experience on hyperscale or large-scale data centre projects
Strong understanding of CSA and MEP packages
Proven experience managing valuations, change, variations and commercial reporting
Experience working with or alongside main contractors and subcontractors
Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial risk
Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and project documentation
Strong Excel and financial reporting skills
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
FIDIC experience desirable
Data centre / mission-critical experience strongly preferred
Package
24-month contract
Rotational basis – long weekend home every 3 weeks
Based on-site in Gavle, Sweden.
