Senior Data Engineer to ICA Banken

ICA Banken have embarked on a digital transformation journey and are investing in establishing a data platform based on Data Mesh principles on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). We are therefore looking for passionate Data Engineer to join our growing team and play a key role in shaping the future of our data ecosystem.

This is your job:

Welcome to a high-performing team that will have a fundamental impact on ICA Banken's journey to becoming a data-driven organisation. We are part of the Data & Analytics department in Solna and work on the establishment of a data platform on GCP, which is our new target architecture. The strategy is to move data from our source systems to GCP and develop data products to strengthen the organisation from both the business and technology sides.

As our Senior Data Engineer, you will be a bridge between business and IT, collaborating closely with both sides. Your focus is on designing a futuristic data platform on GCP, aligned with Data Mesh principles, to significantly enhance data accessibility, scalability, and innovation across the organization. Furthermore, you would be designing and optimizing data pipelines to ensure seamless integration and processing across diverse data sources and designing data models with best practices in schema design, data partitioning and indexing to improve performance and efficiency. You will work closely with stakeholders to implement various business use cases using tools like DBT, and together with data engineers, scientists, architects, and business stakeholders you will deliver value-driven data solutions.

Moreover, you will be enforcing security standards to protect sensitive banking data throughout its lifecycle.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who have a university degree in engineering, programing or similar and at least 5 years of experience in data engineering or related roles. We assume you have knowledge of data product thinking and data modeling design and query optimization strategies.

To thrive in this position, you need experience from working within a cloud data platform and their data services. You are passionate about creating value from data and supporting the organisation becoming data driven. Experience applying data governance frameworks that ensure data integrity and quality is considered a plus.

To be eligible for this position, you should be fluent in spoken and written English and Swedish is a merit.

As a person, you are analytical, structured, goal-oriented, passionate about data and driving positive change in the organization. You are equally comfortable talking to technical experts as you are with those who have never worked with data. You thrive in a collaborative and agile environment.
