We are looking for an exceptional business leader to join us as President of business area Machining at Sandvik. As President, you lead one of the world's most respected industrial businesses and play a pivotal role in delivering Sandvik's Advancing to 2030 strategy through growth, innovation, digitalization and operational excellence.
Business area Machining is the global leading manufacturer of tools and tooling systems for advanced industrial metal cutting, as well as metal powder. In 2025, sales were approximately SEK 44 billion with about 18,700 employees. Our portfolio includes market leading brands like Sandvik Coromant, Seco, Walter and Dormer Pramet. Together, these businesses combine industry-leading technology, deep application expertise and strong customer partnerships to help manufacturers improve productivity, efficiency and sustainability.
About the job
With overall responsibility for the business, you set the direction and lead the execution of business area Machining's strategy and performance agenda. Machining consists of a portfolio of leading divisions and businesses, each with its own market position, strategy and profit and loss responsibility. A key part of your role is to foster and strengthen Sandvik's decentralized model, empowering division presidents and leadership teams to drive performance, innovation and customer success while ensuring alignment with the overall strategic direction of business area Machining and Sandvik Group.
You are accountable for sustainable growth, profitability, innovation and customer success across the portfolio. Through strong leadership, disciplined execution and active portfolio management, you identify new growth opportunities, strengthen market positions and ensure that business area Machining remains at the forefront of manufacturing transformation.
As a member of Sandvik Group Executive Management, you work closely with colleagues across the Group to ensure long-term value creation for customers, shareholders and society. You report to the President and CEO of Sandvik Group.
Job responsibilities

Accelerate digitalization, AI adoption and innovation initiatives.
Develop and support strong division leadership teams with accountability for strategy execution and business performance.
Foster an entrepreneurial and decentralized culture where decisions are made close to customers and markets.
Deliver operational excellence and cost competitiveness while advancing sustainability and responsible business practices.
Identify and execute acquisitions and other opportunities that support long-term growth and value creation.
Location
The position is based in Stockholm. International travel is an integral part of the position.
Your profile
You are a proven global business leader with a strong track record of delivering growth, transformation and financial performance in complex international environments. You combine strategic thinking with operational excellence and are comfortable leading through change in a rapidly evolving landscape shaped by technology, automation, AI and sustainability.
You bring:
Extensive senior leadership experience with full P&L responsibility.
Success in driving business growth, transformation and strategy execution.
Experience from industrial, manufacturing and/or technology-intensive businesses.
Strong commercial acumen and customer orientation, combined with a strong understanding of advanced technologies.
Experience leading large, global and decentralized organizations through empowered leadership teams.
Strong ability to set the strategic direction and inspire, develop and lead high-performing leaders and teams.
Strong ability to simplify complexity.
Excellent communication skills and fluency in English.
It's also meriting if you have prior experience engaging with boards of directors, investors, media and other external stakeholders.
