Operational Team Leader Pilot Production Site

Nordic Bio-Graphite secures future-proof access to graphite by producing fossil-free graphite from forest residues for the industries powering the future. Founded in 2024, the company builds on more than a decade of research at KTH Royal Institute of Technology.

To take the next step in this journey, we are now looking for an Operational Team Leader for our pilot production site in Bromma, Stockholm.

About the role

Do you want to be part of cutting-edge development and help shape the future of fossil-free graphite production in Europe?

Nordic Bio-Graphite is entering an exciting new phase as we begin scaling the production of fossil-free graphite. We have secured our first production site in Bromma and are now building the team that will bring the production to life.

As Operational Team Leader, you will lead the day-to-day operations of the pilot production facility while working hands-on in production alongside a small team of two operators. This is a highly operational role where you will combine team coordination and daily planning with practical production work. You will be expected to operate equipment, solve practical problems and actively take part in the daily production together with the team.

Areas of Responsibility

Lead the day-to-day operation of our pilot production facility while working hands-on alongside the operators.

Plan and coordinate daily production activities and priorities for a small team of operators.

Work hands-on in production, operating, preparing, cleaning and maintaining production equipment.

Ensure production is carried out safely and in line with quality, traceability and production requirements.

Maintain accurate production records and ensure materials are handled correctly to prevent mix-ups.

Support the installation, commissioning and start-up of new production equipment, including hands-on troubleshooting, basic equipment repairs and first-line maintenance.

Identify and contribute to improvements in production routines, work instructions and safety procedures.

Train and support operators in production routines and safe working practices.

Work closely with Process Engineers and R&D during production trials and process development.

Lead by example in creating a strong safety culture, ensuring safe handling of chemicals, fine powders and high-temperature equipment while maintaining a well-organised workplace.

The position is permanent and full-time, with a six-month probationary period, and is based on-site in Bromma, Stockholm. Candidates must have the right to work permanently in Sweden.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who is curious, hands-on and motivated by the opportunity to contribute to our mission: enabling fossil-free graphite production in Europe.

We are looking for someone who has:

Hands-on experience working as an operator in a production, manufacturing, laboratory or process environment.

Practical, hands-on technical and mechanical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and perform basic equipment repairs.

A strong understanding of workplace safety and experience working with safe operating procedures and SOPs.

Previous experience of, or a strong interest in, leading and coordinating a small team of operators.

The ability to plan, organise and prioritise daily production activities.

The technical confidence to learn and operate industrial equipment, perform basic equipment checks and support routine maintenance.

Experience with, or confidence in, handling chemicals and other production materials.

Fluency in English, both spoken and written. Swedish or another additional language is considered an advantage.

Being part of our pilot production team means helping to build a new production site from the ground up. You will work closely with the operators, R&D and the Lead Engineer in an environment where processes are still evolving and new challenges will need to be solved together.

We believe you:

Have a strong safety mindset and understand that safe working practices always come first.

Are structured, methodical and detail-oriented, with a strong focus on quality, traceability and

correct material handling.

Take ownership and accountability for your work and pride in following procedures accurately and consistently.

Can maintain focus and accuracy, even during repetitive tasks.

Enjoy practical, hands-on production work alongside your responsibilities as Team Leader.

Communicate clearly, collaborate well with others and enjoy supporting and helping colleagues.

Are curious, adaptable and motivated to learn new equipment and processes, and enjoy being part of shaping and developing new ways of working.

Why join us?

This is an opportunity to join a start-up at the forefront of the energy transition and help build a new production site from the ground up. You will work hands-on with a genuine opportunity to influence how things are done and develop as the company grows.

At the same time, you will contribute to something bigger; developing fossil-free graphite that can reduce emissions and strengthen Europe's access to a strategically important material. Find out more on https://www.nordicbiographite.com.

Interested?

Would you like to be part of building something new and contribute to the future of fossil-free graphite production in Europe? We would love to hear from you.
