Turn strategic opportunities into acquisition themes, qualified target pipelines and robust business cases. As Origination Management Professional, you lead the front end of the acquisition lifecycle and help Sandvik Coromant identify opportunities that support profitable growth, strengthen strategic positioning and build valuable capabilities.
Working at the intersection of corporate strategy, market intelligence and business development, you combine analytical depth with commercial curiosity. Close collaboration with business owners and functional experts enables you to shape clear recommendations and bring the strongest opportunities forward.
About the job
You translate strategic priorities, value pools, capability gaps and business development opportunities into focused acquisition themes. From market mapping and target origination to qualification and business case validation, you create transparency and structure throughout the front end of the acquisition process.
Job responsibilities
Develop and maintain evidence-based acquisition themes, including strategic rationale, scope, target profiles, screening criteria and preliminary value creation logic.
Build structured market maps and target universes, then identify and prioritize companies based on strategic fit, market position, ownership and economic attractiveness.
Create proactive deal flow through company and owner outreach, industry networks, advisors, investors and internal stakeholders.
Assess targets, identify risks and dependencies, and recommend whether opportunities should progress, be held or rejected.
Lead the development and validation of strategic business cases together with intended business owners and relevant functional experts.
Improve origination methods, assessment criteria, decision gates and pipeline governance using analytics, AI, external intelligence and learning from previous opportunities.
Location & flexibility
This position is flexible within Europe, with a strong preference for Sweden or another location close to one of our key office sites.
Your profile
You bring strong experience from strategy, corporate development, M&A origination, business development, investment analysis or management consulting. With advanced analytical and commercial capabilities, you move confidently between strategic questions, market and company intelligence, senior stakeholder dialogue and detailed business case development.
Your background includes
The ability to translate strategic priorities into investable themes and company-specific value creation hypotheses.
Advanced capability in market analysis, target screening, strategic business cases, financial logic and executive decision support.
Strong commercial understanding of business models, competitive advantage, customer value and growth drivers.
Credibility in senior internal and external discussions, together with sound judgement when handling sensitive relationships and confidential information.
The ability to work independently and create structure while contributing effectively across functions and stakeholder groups.
Strategic judgement, curiosity and analytical rigor guide your work. You're persistent in building relationships and comfortable progressing complex opportunities without relying on formal authority. Integrity, follow-through and a collaborative, pragmatic approach help you turn open questions into clear and actionable recommendations.
