Legal Counsel - Stockholm

Assessio is growing across Europe, and with more markets, customers and products comes an increasingly interesting legal landscape. We are now looking for a Legal Counsel to provide hands-on legal support across commercial agreements, customer negotiations, privacy and technology-related matters.

This is a broad in-house role where you will work across our Commercial, Customer Success, Product and Engineering teams. You will have independence in your day-to-day work, while continuing to broaden your legal experience and gradually taking greater ownership of how we work with recurring legal needs.

What you will do

Your main focus will be providing practical, commercially minded legal support to the business.

You will:

• Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements, including SaaS agreements, DPAs, enterprise customer agreements and partner agreements
• Work directly with Sales and Customer Success in customer negotiations, contract discussions and escalations
• Support tenders, public procurements and RFP processes
• Advise on day-to-day privacy and regulatory matters, including GDPR, the EU AI Act, Data Act and cross-border data transfers
• Work closely with Product and Engineering on legal questions related to product features, data usage, AI and privacy-by-design
• Identify legal risks and turn them into clear, pragmatic recommendations that help the business move forward
• Handle a broad range of ad hoc legal matters across our markets and functions
• Collaborate with our DPO and coordinate with external legal counsel when specialist expertise is needed
• Contribute to M&A, due diligence and other corporate matters when relevant

As you get to know Assessio and the legal questions that repeatedly arise, you will also have the opportunity to improve templates, guidelines and ways of working - making everyday legal support increasingly clear and efficient.

The role at Assessio

This is an individual contributor role with broad exposure across the organization and our European markets.

You will take ownership of legal matters within your area while having access to our DPO and external legal expertise when needed. Over time, there is room to grow into greater tactical ownership as your understanding of Assessio and our legal needs develops.

What we are looking for

You are a commercially minded lawyer who has built a solid foundation in commercial legal work and is ready to take the next step into a broad and increasingly independent role.

We believe you have:

• A Master of Laws (LL.M.) or equivalent
• Hands-on experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements
• Experience with B2B technology, SaaS or other technology-related commercial agreements
• Practical experience with GDPR and data privacy matters
• Experience working directly with business stakeholders
• Strong written and verbal English, proficiency in another Nordic language is an advantage

You may also have experience AI-related regulation, international organizations, M&A or due diligence - but we don't expect you to have done everything already.

What matters is that you have developed enough legal experience to work with a good level of independence, while still being motivated by learning, broadening your expertise and developing your judgement through hands-on legal work.
