Are you about to graduate, or have you recently completed your university studies in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Embedded Systems, Telecommunications, or a related field?

Join Ericsson's Cloud RAN Layer 1 organization and help build the technology that powers next-generation mobile networks.

Our teams develop performance-critical software at the heart of 5G and future radio systems. As a Junior Software Engineer, you will work alongside experienced developers and technical experts to learn how advanced wireless communication systems are designed, implemented, tested, and optimized.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is curious, eager to learn, and excited about solving challenging technical problems in a collaborative environment.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain software in Ericsson's Cloud RAN Layer 1 platform.
• Use AI-assisted engineering workflows to support activities such as developing code, test creation, debugging, documentation, and code review.
• Work with modern C++ and performance-critical software components.
• Learn how 5G/6G radio systems and physical layer processing work.
• Participate in feature development, debugging, testing, code reviews, and continuous integration activities.
• Collaborate with software developers, architects, system engineers, and testers across global teams.
• Contribute to software quality, test coverage, maintainability, and continuous improvement.
• Explore and contribute to AI/ML-enabled features that may be implemented in the product, including prototyping, integration, testing, and evaluation together with experienced engineers.
• Grow your technical skills through mentorship, feedback, and hands-on experience.

The skills you bring

• Programming experience in C/C++, Python, Julia.
• Foundational understanding of AI and machine learning concepts.
• Practical experience using Python for data processing, experimentation, or machine learning through university coursework, thesis work, or personal projects.
• Experience with Linux development environments, Git, unit testing, CI/CD, or cloud-native technologies.
• Basic understanding of 5G, mobile networks, physical layer processing, or 3GPP concepts.
• Ability to use AI-assisted development tools critically and responsibly.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Interest in software engineering, high-performance systems, and telecommunications.
• Good communication skills in English.
• Curiosity, collaboration, ownership, and a strong willingness to learn.

You do not need previous professional telecom or Layer 1 experience. We are looking for strong engineering fundamentals, learning agility, and the motivation to grow.
