About the traineeship.
This traineeship offers you a unique opportunity to kickstart your career in sustainable business. Your role as a Trainee – Associate Project Manager
You will join Project Central, Vattenfall Power Solutions’ central function for project governance, project values and project quality. We work across the organization to improve project delivery and support our Business Unit’s leadership in prioritizing, governing and following up on strategic development initiatives and investments.
As a trainee, you will contribute to the development of our PMO capabilities, helping to improve processes, reporting, portfolio insights and performance measurement. You will work closely with project managers, PMO specialists, business stakeholders and management teams across the business unit.
During your first year, you will gain hands-on experience in project governance, portfolio management, business improvement and data-driven decision making. Your work will help strengthen Vattenfall’s ability to deliver important investments safely, efficiently and with maximum business value.
Your responsibilities:
- Support the development of PMO processes, methods and governance
- Contribute to reporting, KPI development and project analytics to management team
- Identify improvement opportunities and support implementation initiatives
- Assist in developing management dashboards and decision support material
- Collaborate with stakeholders across business areas and project organizations
Your qualifications as a Trainee - Associate Project Manager
- University degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Management, Business Administration or a related field
- Strong interest in project management, business improvement and organizational development
- Good analytical skills and ability to work with data and reporting
- Fluent in both Swedish and English, both spoken and written

To be considered for our traineeship, you should:
- Have completed, or expect to complete, an academic degree before the programme starts in March 2027.
- Have no more than one year of relevant work experience after graduation, excluding internships and working-student roles.
- Be fluent in English.
- Be available for the full-time programme from its start date.
- Have the right to work in the country where the position is based, or meet the stated work-permit requirements.
- Be open to mobility opportunities and collaborating across different locations.
- Demonstrate curiosity, initiative and growth mindset while sharing our values: Active, Open, Positive and Safe.
Location:
You will be working in the department Project Central at BU Vattenfall Power Solutions and located in Solna or Gothenburg, Sweden.

The deadline to apply is October 18th, 2026. Selection will start after the application period with online tests, followed by interviews between the end of October to end November.

The final recruitment process will be completed by December, with a pre-employment screening. The Vattenfall International Trainee Programme starts on March 1st, 2027.
