About the role

We are now looking for an Industrial Designer to join Husqvarna Group, Global Design in Stockholm. We are looking for someone with a high level of creativity, curiosity, and the ability to see opportunities where others see limitations. You will become part of an international design organization where industrial design, user experience, technology, and brand come together to create the next generation of products and solutions.

Husqvarna Global Design is an international team of around 45 designers who work together to shape the future of products and user experiences across Husqvarna's brands. Global Design works on more than 100 projects every year and brings together expertise within areas such as Industrial Design, Brand Design, and User Experience.

As an Industrial Designer, you will work with commercial product development throughout the entire design process. You will develop physical products and solutions where user needs, ergonomics, functionality, manufacturing, business value, and a strong visual expression all need to come together in a well-considered whole.

You will join a creative and international environment with close collaboration between designers, engineers, and other specialists. Projects are run cross-functionally and may involve colleagues and stakeholders from different parts of the world. This requires you to be able to drive your own work independently while also navigating complex contexts together with others.

You are offered

A creative role in Husqvarna's modern design studio in Hagastaden, Stockholm. The design studio is a central part of the way of working and includes products and prototypes, as well as 3D printers and other tools that enable ideas to move from sketch to physical reality.

A workplace that promotes strong team dynamics through a hybrid working model, with at least four days per week at the office.

The position will initially be a consulting assignment through Academic Work, with the ambition of transitioning into direct employment with Husqvarna Group thereafter.

Work tasks

The role involves leading and executing the design process from start to finish, with a focus on creating innovative and user-friendly solutions in an international environment.

Develop attractive and innovative design solutions in line with the brand strategy

Lead design workshops together with other designers and stakeholders

Ensure visual and tactile quality (FFF) throughout the project

Create ergonomic product solutions that meet user needs

Produce high-quality concept sketches and work with 3D modelling

Coach and guide other designers in the development of design solutions

Drive projects from concept through to final production in cross-functional teams

We are looking for

Holds a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Design or a related field

Has relevant professional experience in industrial design and commercial product development

Has experience developing physical products from initial concept and idea through to a realized product

Has a strong ability to communicate complex ideas to different stakeholders

Has advanced proficiency in English, both spoken and written

Has a strong portfolio demonstrating your role and contribution in previous design projects

It is meritorious if you have

A Master's degree in Industrial Design or a related field

Experience leading design teams or complex brand-related projects

Knowledge of material selection and manufacturing processes
