Engineering Manager

We develop, manufacture, and sell motors with focus on rail applications and the e-mobility segment. Our customers are mainly train manufacturers or propulsion system providers supplying vehicles for different applications such as locomotives, regional trains, metros, tramways, and heavy electrical vehicles for off road. This position will give you opportunities and interesting challenges on both local and global level. To our traction and e-mobility motor business in Västerås, Sweden we are looking for a committed and passionate manager to lead and support our Engineering team. The team consists of approximately 10 people who provide our customers with world-class technical support in terms of optimized designs for each unique customer request, both in the quotation stage and in the execution of customer projects. In this challenging role, you will manage a highly motivated team of electrical and mechanical engineers. Your responsibilities
- Being part of the Traction and eMobility motors Management Team
- Leading, coaching and supporting the team members to utilize their full potential concerning processes, tools, and templates
- Ensuring that the design department delivers customer projects with the right quality and cost on time
- Securing continuous improvement of the engineering process and tools
- Establishing and maintaining close collaboration with other engineering teams, product management, project management and other relevant functions
Your background
- Bachelor's or master's degree, or PhD, in electrical or mechanical engineering
- At least 5 years of work experience in a technical customer focused area, ideally in the field of railway, ebus or heavy electric vehicle propulsion
- Experience in leadership or project management is an advantage
- Willingness to develop people and businesses, a strong result focus, and the ability to coach, inspire and engage other people
- You are organized and structured, and enjoy working in an operational and strategical role.
- You are a team player with excellent communication skills, fluent in English and Swedish is mandatory
