We're looking for a Data Scientist to join our Resins & Technology Data Science R&D team in Uppsala, Sweden. In this role, you will support the full product development lifecycle, from early discovery and feasibility assessment through design, proof-of-concept, transfer into production and routine manufacturing support. You will combine data, technology, and scientific expertise to solve complex challenges, develop data science solutions, and apply advanced analytics and AI/ML methods. Working closely with researchers, domain experts, data scientists, and cross-functional partners across the business, you will contribute to products used in the manufacturing of life-saving biological drugs while strengthening our data-driven culture.

What You'll Do :

• Perform data analysis, troubleshoot development projects, and develop, implement, and tune predictive models.
• Support experimental design (DoE) and planning.
• Drive and foster a data-driven culture within R&D.
• Work with R&D SMEs to understand scientific workflows and identify opportunities for automation, optimization, and AI/ML.
• Design and document maintainable solutions and data flows in collaboration with stakeholders and IT architects.
• Document and present results clearly, both orally and in writing.
• Identify and implement relevant new techniques while following technical developments in the field.
• Work effectively in a dynamic environment with adaptability, independence and strong collaboration.

Who you are

• PhD in a technical discipline, with expert competency in data science/chemometrics/bioinformatics, or equivalent industry experience.
• Proficient in R and/or Python
• Proficient in explorative data analysis, cleaning, and transformation
• Well versed in multivariate statistics and predictive modelling
• Experience with modern AI/ML techniques
• Experience with solutions for data management, cleaning, and transformation
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS and Azure) and their data services
• Experience with version control/Git
• Fluent in English, both verbally and in writing

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Experience with image analysis and/or computer vision
• Experience with Microsoft Copilot, AI agents, and agentic workflow design
• Experience in Design of Experiments (DoE)
• Experience in the SQL language and databases
• Experience with Web development
• Experience with DevOps and CI/CD
• Practical wet lab experience and experience with analytical chemistry
