At GeoGuessr, we're looking for a creative frontend developer who combines a strong eye for UI with solid technical skills and the curiosity to bring ideas to life.

You'll help shape the experience for millions of players worldwide, creating features that are not only functional but also fun, intuitive, and visually engaging.

The role
You'll work at the intersection of creativity, design, and technology, collaborating closely with designers and product managers to create engaging game experiences.

We're looking for someone who doesn't just implement designs but brings ideas to the table, experiments, and takes ownership from concept to finished feature.

You have hands-on experience building web applications and care about how things look, feel, and perform.

Your main focus will be frontend development, but you understand how APIs and backend services work together.

What you will do:
Build playful, polished, and interactive experiences for millions of players.

• Turn ideas and designs into high-quality, production-ready features.
• Collaborate with Design and Product to explore ideas and improve the player experience.
• Take initiative, experiment, and drive solutions forward independently.
• Create reusable UI components with attention to performance, usability, and visual details.
• Work with APIs and occasionally make smaller backend changes, using AI tools where helpful.

What we hope you'll bring:

• Hands-on experience with modern web development, particularly React and TypeScript.
• A creative mindset and a strong eye for UI, interactions, and visual details.
• Experience turning ideas into working solutions, with an understanding of performance and code quality.
• A self-starter mentality - you take initiative and enjoy figuring things out.
• A solid understanding of how web applications work, including APIs and frontend/backend communication.
• Curiosity about AI-assisted development and the ability to understand and evaluate the solutions you build.
• A collaborative mindset and a genuine interest in games and playful digital experiences.

Its extra nice if you bring:

• Experience building games or other interactive web experiences.
• Experience with animations, motion design, Three.js, WebGL, or creative coding.
• Familiarity with Figma, design systems, or component libraries.
• Personal projects that showcase your creativity and technical skills.

This role is based in Stockholm where we have invested in creating our unique home at Katarinavägen 17, in the glass house by Slussen. * or equivalent experience (Higher Vocational Education (Yrkeshögskola) may be sufficient only if compensated trough extensive work experience).
