We are seeking a passionate and dedicated legal professional to join our team and contribute to our success. If you are ready to take on new challenges and eager to make a difference in the Intellectual Property industry, we encourage you to apply.
About the Role
As part of the Abion team, you'll join our Swedish legal team of 14 colleagues, nine attorneys and five paralegals, based across Stockholm, Malmö, and Gothenburg. This position is based in Stockholm.
You'll also collaborate with more than 120 international legal professionals across the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Denmark, Spain, Italy, Turkey, and the UAE, working on a diverse portfolio of cases and clients. You'll quickly take on an independent role with significant responsibility and play a crucial part in maintaining our high standards and delivering exceptional legal services.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct trademark and design clearance searches and advise on availability, registrability, and filing strategy.
• Monitor third-party applications and handle oppositions, cancellations, and enforcement actions before PRV, EUIPO, and the Swedish Patent and Market Courts.
• Draft and negotiate IP-related agreements, including licence, coexistence, settlement, and assignment agreements.
• Advise clients on trademark portfolio strategy, protection, enforcement, and optimisation throughout the entire lifecycle.
• Manage international trademark and design matters in collaboration with foreign counsel and local agents.
• Handle IP-related disputes and provide practical, strategic legal advice.
• Contribute to business development, build long-term client relationships, and provide training on intellectual property matters and legal developments.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for a service-minded team player who builds strong relationships, works independently, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Essential qualifications
• A Master of Laws degree (LL.M. or equivalent).
• Relevant experience in intellectual property law and in managing trademark and design matters.
• Experience drafting and negotiating IP-related agreements.
• Strong commercial awareness and the ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal advice.
• Experience managing client matters independently and collaborating with international counsel.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Swedish and English, with a high level of precision.
Desirable qualifications
• Experience from an IP law firm, PRV, a Swedish court, an in-house legal department, or a similar organisation.
• Familiarity with proceedings before PRV, EUIPO, and the Swedish Patent and Market Courts.
• Knowledge of domain-name disputes, online brand protection, or copyright law.
