ROLE SUMMARY
The Sustainability & Utility Manager leads the Sustainability & Utility team and delivers a safe working environment, a sustainable factory and a reliable utility functionality. The role is responsible for compliance towards international standards and Swedish legislation regarding EHS, sustainability and utility, OPEX budget, reporting accuracy and contract management. The role is guiding external bodies and suppliers through audits and inspections. As a role model, the Sustainability & Utility Manager demonstrates a professional leadership, clear direction and commitment to safety and the company's vision and mission.

ACCOUNTABILITIES
Principal Accountabilities:
- Responsible for a safe working environment, compliance of EHS, Sustainability, energy, utility and construction towards BAT global standards and to Swedish legislation.
- Responsibility for leading and developing the Sustainability and Utility team, ensure proper competences and developing plans for team members. Working for creating a good work relationship within the team.
- Responsible for accurate reporting data.
- Responsible for reporting incidents to local authorities and Regional Head of Sustainability and collaboration with regional sustainability team
- Responsible for management of risk assessments, safe operating procedures and improvement of way of working.
- Pillar lead for SUST pillar (sustainability)
- Managing cross functional forums, ex EHS monthly, safety meetings, yearly management training.
- Responsible for driving the work within EHS road map, GOM, BIA, BCP, AWS, Energy Mapping, 10 golden rules etc towards compliance.
- Manage project support within projects where EHS or utility is required and is actively proposing projects for improvements within EHS, sustainability and utility.
- Guiding external (government) bodies and suppliers during audits and inspections.
- Responsible for document management, folder structure and contract management
- Responsible for OPEX management within Sustainability and Utility.
- Working for a more sustainable energy consumption through improvement of processes, innovations and future proof concepts.
- Set directions for the teams, driving changes and improvements. Keeping track of trends and innovations both national and globally and implementation of these.
Leadership accountabilities
- Acts as ambassador for EHS tools and processes within Malmö Operations.
Relationship accountabilities
- Build trust and establish authentic relationships through own behaviours and support actions to enhance relationships within Malmö Operations.
- Close relationship with support departments to drive process improvements regarding EHS rules and directives
SCOPE OF AUTHORITY
- Decision-making authority over budget and implementation of new process and improvements
- Decision making in people management for the team
- Assess performance, conduct performance & potential ratings, drive & coach PIP-plans
- Delegate responsibilities to the team and change work tasks
- Authority to take disciplinary actions for team members acting in a noncompliant way.
- Authority to make decisions and take actions within rehabilitation discussions
- Authority to initiate hiring for empty positions
- Make hiring decisions in collaboration with 1 above 1 manager and HR
- Approvals for POs up to 100 KSEK
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE
Experience Required
- Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience
- Minimum 3 years of university study within sustainability, construction EHS or similar education.
- Experience and knowledge in EHS, sustainability and utility compliance towards Swedish legislation.
- Solid knowledge of how an industrial production company operates.
- Knowledge of facilitating trainings and shaping the L&D policy of an organization, including basic knowledge of psychology, coaching, capability models, and change management
Technical / Functional / Leadership Skills Required
- Fluent in spoken and written Swedish and English
- Excellent computer skills in MS Office
- Knowledge of legislations regarding EHS, Environment and Utilities
- Ability to identify, organize and execute improvement initiatives.
- Capability to quickly adapt and self-improve.
- High degree of autonomy while still being a team player
