Software Engineer, Platform Engineering

Saga is Einride's freight management platform for electric transport. The Platform Engineering team owns the foundation it's built on: authentication, authorization, user management, and the developer tooling that lets our product teams ship fast and safely. Every part of Saga rests on this platform, so when it works well, the whole organization moves faster and the transport industry electrifies sooner.

We're looking for a Software Engineer who measures success by how much faster everyone else can move. You'll build the foundations other teams depend on, and you'll care that they're simple, reliable, and a pleasure to use.

You will:

• Build and operate the internal platform Saga runs on: authentication (OAuth2, SAML), authorization (ReBAC), user management, and developer tooling.
• Build the foundations for AI-driven interaction with Saga - the APIs, tooling, and access controls that let agents and AI tools work with the platform safely.
• Work in Go, gRPC and Google Cloud Platform. See our Backend Tech Radar for the full stack.
• Reduce friction for other product teams: improve paved paths and shape how we ship.
• Ship to production several times a day in an empowered team that owns what it builds.
• Partner with the security team so that the platform stays secure and stays easy to build on.

We expect you to:

• Have a few years of backend development experience and a habit of picking up new concepts and domains.
• Collaborate closely with product, design and stakeholders to help shape problems and not just implement solutions
• Have a high ownership mentality and be capable of driving initiatives from idea to delivery
• Stay curious about the latest AI models and tools, using them to increase your own speed and impact and to improve what we build.
• Care about platform and developer-experience work, including reliability, while staying hands-on.
• Have a working understanding of authentication and authorization systems.
• Be comfortable translating business processes into system design (e.g. Domain-Driven Design).
• Go experience is a strong plus, not a requirement.
