Job Summary

An exciting opportunity opens within Corporate Sustainability. We are looking for a Social Sustainability Lead, who will have a key role in developing and implementing Tetra Pak's Social Sustainability Framework, anchored in our human rights due diligence process.

Tetra Pak commits to making food safe and available, everywhere. And we promise to protect what's good: protecting food, people and the planet. Respecting human rights across our operations and value chain, by implementing the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, is our means to deliver on this promise to protect people.

In Social Sustainability, we develop the human rights due diligence process, collaborating with multiple business areas and markets to assess risks to people across the value chain and to develop action plans to prevent and address issues. You will be one of Tetra Pak's subject matter experts in business and human rights and contribute to the delivery of our integrated sustainability agenda.

The position is permanent, based in Lund, Sweden, or another Tetra Pak office, preferably in the EMEA time zone, and will include some travelling. You will be reporting to the Director, Circular Economy, Nature and Social Sustainability, in Corporate Sustainability.

What you will do

You will be part of the Tetra Pak central Corporate Sustainability organization, responsible for leading the development and deployment of the Social Sustainability Framework. As part of a newly established Circular Economy, Nature and Social Sustainability team, you will lead development of a robust human rights due diligence process to proactively identify and address risks to people across the value chain. You will be leading integration of social sustainability into our integrated sustainability approach in collaboration with colleagues across various business areas and markets, customers, suppliers and civil society stakeholders.

Focus areas:

• Take the lead in developing and deploying Tetra Pak's Human Rights Due Diligence process in relevant business areas across the company and value chain.

• Provide human rights expertise, insights and training to teams responsible for implementation of the human rights' due diligence process.

• Develop and deploy human rights risk assessment, action planning and KPI development.

• Work with colleagues across Corporate Sustainability, Finance and Communications to inform reporting.

• Build awareness and capacity to secure buy in and ownership of the Social Sustainability agenda in relevant functions, business areas and value chain.

• Support stakeholders in mitigation and remedy of identified human rights issues.

• Support the Sustainability Operations market teams in the global south in implementing human rights due diligence in informal waste collection sector and recycling of Liquid Packaging Cartons.

• Undertake research on issues, contexts, suppliers, customers and other stakeholders' human rights processes and impacts in preparation for engagement on Social Sustainability challenges.

• Develop relationships with external stakeholders that can support the implementation of Tetra Pak's Social Sustainability strategy.

We believe you have

• A relevant university degree on Master level.

• Minimum 5 years' experience and knowledge in the implementation of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and/or specific human rights issues through your work in a business, consultancy, trade association, civil society organisation, Government or international institution.

• Excellent written and verbal English skills are essential, since we operate on a global basis.

• Track record of driving change and reaching targets in a multi stakeholder environment.

• You are capable of working independently and of developing ideas, projects and tools.

• You are good at building relationships with a variety of stakeholder groups across multiple geographies.

• Desk and qualitative research skills will be important to you in this role, as will the ability to communicate complex ideas in clear, engaging and persuasive ways.

You will be motivated by the idea of strengthening the performance and resilience of Tetra Pak and its value chain through development and deployment of a strong social sustainability and human rights agenda.

We Offer You

A variety of exciting challenges with ample opportunities for development and training in a truly global landscape

A culture that pioneers a spirit of innovation where our industry experts drive visible results

An equal opportunity employment experience that values diversity and inclusion
