Senior Technical Writer

The Senior Technical Writer, is responsible for customer facing user documentation for Cytiva products globally. As Senior Technical Writer you are working in an agile environment and will have an overarching responsibility for the strategy for customer facing user documentation for your product areas. This involves content creation, coordinating and driving the TechDoc activities for your product areas. Furthermore, the role is responsible for improving tools and processes, including the implementation of AI and digitalization of user documentation. This position reports to the Manager Technical Documentation and is part of the Product Stewardship and Compliance organization within QARA, located in Uppsala, Sweden, and will be an on-site role.

What you will do:

• Research, write, edit, review and publish end-user documentation to ensure completeness, accuracy, validity, and clarity of information for digital and/or print production in line with corporate standards for style, branding and quality, legal guidelines, and regulatory requirements.

• Work closely with other functions (such as product management, research & development, regulatory, and project managers) for the timely and cost-effective production of new documents and maintenance of existing documents.

• Fulfil end-user documentation assignments such as production of new technical documentation for new product development (NPDs) or updates of existing technical documentation.

• Define the strategy and future direction of user documentation for your product areas based on risk based, cost efficient and balanced solutions. Drive alignment of customer facing user documentation across Cytiva to ensure optimal customer user experience.

• Drive digitalization and sustainability for user documentation including exploring new technology development in digital communications as customer delighters.

• Lead continuous improvements initiatives/activities, development and implementation of tools, AI, databases and processes to ensure efficiency, quality and user experience.

Who you are:

• MSc degree preferably in Life Science, or related field; or BSc in Life Science, or related field or related field with relevant work experience.

• 2+ years of progressively responsible experience in the writing, editing, and production of technical documentation.

• Expertise in technical writing and experience in user instructions for life science products.

• Experience of working with XML based content management systems.

• Experience in HTML/CSS.

• Organizational savvy, strong on building connections and cross-functional collaboration, and meeting conflicting needs.

• Demonstrated ability to balance resources, timing and quality of outcomes. Strong on managing multiple projects and timelines.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, fluent in English.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

• Ability to travel - opportunities for occasional international travel (less than 5%)

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Cytiva products and organization.

• Proficient in desktop publishing tools for example Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.
