Senior Mechanical Engineer
Are you a Senior Mechanical Engineer looking for a role where you can combine deep technical expertise with real product impact?
We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join one of our business unit teams at Aimpoint. In this role, you will act as a key technical contributor throughout the product lifecycle, influencing design decisions, manufacturing solutions, and future product development. Working in a cross-functional and agile environment, you will drive complex development activities, mentor colleagues, and play an important role in shaping the next generation of Aimpoint products.

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer - you will:
Lead and drive mechanical development activities from concept generation through industrialization and product lifecycle management.
Work in a cross-functional team including product owners, scrum masters, mechanical engineers, electronics and software developers, production engineering, purchasing, and manufacturing.
Take responsibility for test strategies, design decisions, manufacturing documentation, and documentation in accordance with applicable requirements and standards.
Initiate and implement improvements to manufacturing methods and introduce them into production.
Collaborate closely with suppliers in technical discussions.
Key responsibilities:
Act as the technical owner of mechanical design solutions and provide guidance on critical design decisions throughout development projects.
Concept development, detailed design, and verification.
Prototype development and testing.
Product maintenance and troubleshooting for existing products.
We are seeking someone with:
A Master's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
10+ years of experience in mechanical product development, including ownership of complex technical solutions from concept through production.
Proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
Extensive experience with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks).
Knowledge of surface treatment methods and applications is considered an advantage.
Preferred skills and experiences:
Design for volume manufacturing and assembly (DFM/DFA) and GD&T.
Material and process expertise - plastic design, molding and casting processes, and metal machining.
Understanding of dynamic forces, such as recoil loads.
Experience with PLM systems and FEM analyses.
Cross-functional experience within areas such as electromechanics, optics, testing, and quality.
Industry-specific merits - knowledge of weapon systems; competitive shooting, hunting or military.
Personal qualities:
