Senior Java Fullstack Developer

Job description

Sigma Technology Digital Solutions in Gothenburg is growing and we are looking for experienced fullstack developers who are equally comfortable designing a robust Java backend and building a modern, well structured React frontend. You will work in cloud native environments on AWS, in close collaboration with architects, product owners and other developers.

As a consultant with Sigma Technology Digital Solutions you will work in assignments at some of the most interesting companies in western Sweden, within automotive, industry, defense, mobility and the public sector. Assignments typically run over a longer period, which gives you the chance to really get to know the domain, the codebase and the people you work with. Between and during assignments you have a permanent employment with us, a dedicated manager and a community of colleagues to grow with.

What you will do

• Design, build and maintain backend services in Java, typically with Spring Boot, REST APIs and relational or document databases
• Build user facing applications in React and TypeScript, with focus on maintainability, performance and a great user experience
• Work with cloud infrastructure on AWS, for example ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, API Gateway and IAM
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and quality work
• Take part in technical discussions, architecture decisions and code reviews, and share what you know with the rest of the team
• Act as a trusted advisor towards the client

Please note that we are hiring for a permanent position. We are not considering subcontractors, freelancers or applications from other consultancy firms for this role.

Basic qualifications

• We are looking for someone who has
• At least 6 years of professional experience in software development
• Strong skills in Java and the surrounding ecosystem, for example Spring Boot, Maven or Gradle, JUnit
• Solid experience with React and TypeScript in production applications
• Hands on experience working in AWS, or another major cloud platform with a clear willingness to work in AWS
• Experience with Git, CI/CD and agile ways of working such as Scrum or Kanban
• A degree in computer science, software engineering or equivalent knowledge gained through work
• Good communication skills in both Swedish and English.

Preferred additional skills, personal traits and experience

• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes or infrastructure as code such as Terraform or CloudFormation
• Experience with message based architectures, for example Kafka, SQS or SNS
• Experience from regulated or safety critical environments
• Experience mentoring junior developers or leading a small team
• Experience with observability tooling, security work or performance optimization
