Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to lead the development of our analytics platform. You will help choose the best database technologies and plan how to move our data to improve how we track and analyze complex relationships and metrics.

Responsibilities:

• Review current data setup and plan database migration
• Recommend the best database tools, focusing on graph databases like Neo4j or Amazon Neptune
• Design data models showing events and relationships
• Build ETL pipelines to transform data
• Improve database query speed for complex data relationships
• Connect new database systems with current analytics processes
• Build demos to show how the new system works

Key Qualifications:

• 5+ years experience in database design and engineering
• Good knowledge of data modeling and making queries efficient
• Experience moving data between different types of databases (document, relational, graph)
• Skilled with large data tools like Apache Spark
• Familiar with document databases like MongoDB and JSON data

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with graph databases and query languages (e.g., Cypher)
• Understanding of event-driven and batch data processing
• Knowledge of visualization tools like Grafana
• Worked with both batch and streaming data
• Can explain complex ideas clearly
• Experience combining different database types
• Understand how to track key performance metrics.
