Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Automotive Platform Developer with strong expertise in C++ and Android-based platforms to join an automotive OEM developing next-generation Infotainment and In-Vehicle Experience systems.

The ideal candidate will be a strong C++ engineer with a good understanding of the Android platform and experience developing system-level software, middleware, native services, and platform components for embedded or automotive environments. The role requires hands-on technical expertise and close collaboration with architects, application teams, HMI teams, and other vehicle platform teams.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software development experience, with strong hands-on C++ expertise.
• Excellent knowledge of modern C++, preferably C++14/17 or later.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design, STL, multithreading, concurrency, memory management, and software design patterns.
• Good understanding of Linux/Embedded Linux environments.
• Solid understanding of the Android platform and Android architecture.
• Experience with Android Framework, AOSP, native services, Binder/IPC, AIDL, and system services.
• Experience developing software using the Android NDK and C++.
• Experience with Git, Gerrit, CI/CD, debugging, and profiling tools.
• Strong experience in system-level debugging and root-cause analysis.
• Ability to understand and work across different layers of a complex software stack.
• Familiarity with automotive protocols such as Flexray, SOME/IP, Ethernet, or similar is highly desirable.

Job responsibilities

• Design and develop platform-level software components for Android-based automotive infotainment systems.
• Develop and maintain high-performance C++ middleware, services, and system components.
• Work with the Android platform and framework to integrate automotive-specific functionality.
• Develop and integrate native Android services and components using C++.
• Analyze and troubleshoot issues across the application, middleware, Android framework, and underlying platform.
• Work closely with Android application developers to provide stable and efficient platform APIs and services.
• Participate in platform architecture, technical design, implementation, code reviews, and integration activities.
• Optimize software for performance, memory consumption, startup time, stability, and resource utilization.
• Investigate complex system-level issues using logs, traces, debugging tools, and profiling techniques.
• Support integration and validation in SIL/HIL and complete-vehicle environments.
• Collaborate with system architects, HMI teams, application developers, vehicle integration teams, and external suppliers.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of platform architecture, development processes, and software quality.
