At Combitech in Stockholm, we are looking for a senior AI systems Architect who wants to shape how advanced AI solutions are designed, integrated, and brought into production. This is a role for someone who thrives in complex technical environments, enjoys taking architectural responsibility, and seeks real influence over both customer assignments and internal strategic initiatives. We are looking for a senior technical leader who can make AI work in production by establishing the architecture, platforms, engineering practices, and delivery confidence needed for robust AI-enabled systems. You should be able to compare alternatives, reason through trade-offs, and make well-justified technical decisions across infrastructure, integration, security, scalability, maintainability, and ways of working.
The Role
Depending on the assignment, you will:
Lead AI-enabled solutions from early architecture and requirements to integration, deployment, and long-term operation.
Design technical foundations for production AI, including platform choices, CI/CD, MLOps/LLMOps, observability, governance, and security.
Set direction for engineering practices, architecture decisions, documentation, and technical quality.
Act as a trusted technical advisor to customers, translating complex needs into secure, scalable, and valuable solutions.
Mentor colleagues and help elevate the technical maturity of our growing AI and software engineering community.
Contribute to internal initiatives where your architecture experience can shape reusable capabilities, offerings, and ways of working.
We Are Looking for Someone Who Has
A relevant university degree or equivalent senior professional experience in software, systems architecture, AI, computer science, or a related technical field.
9+ years of software and systems architecture experience, with a proven ability to design and lead complex technical platforms.
Ideally 5+ years of professional experience with AI or machine learning solutions, with a focus on deployment, integration, production readiness, and the practical realities of bringing AI into existing software environments.
Strong judgement in systems design, trade-off analysis, platform selection, secure development, scalability, integration, maintainability, and long-term technical ownership.
A genuine curiosity about where AI technology is heading, including areas such as agentic systems, MCP-based integrations, LLMOps, retrieval-augmented generation, AI governance, observability, and secure deployment patterns.
The ability to apply hard-earned software and architecture experience to today's evolving AI landscape, combining proven engineering discipline with a modern understanding of how AI-enabled systems should and could be built, secured, and operated.
Experience acting as technical lead, architect, or senior advisor in customer-facing or internal development initiatives.
A collaborative leadership style with the ability to build networks, share knowledge, identify opportunities, and support others.
As this position involves work subject to defence secrecy, you will be required to undergo and pass a security clearance, including a background check.
