The Institute of Health and Care Sciences at the University of Gothenburg conducts education and research that advances knowledge of health, healthcare and people's living conditions. We educate registered nurses, radiographers, specialist nurses and midwives, preparing highly skilled healthcare professionals to meet the evolving needs of society.

The University of Gothenburg Centre for Person-centred Care (GPCC) is seeking a researcher in person-centred care, healthcare governance and the organisation of health services.
Duties
The position comprises research, development and collaboration in the field of person-centred healthcare. The successful candidate is expected to initiate, conduct, supervise and contribute to research and development activities at both national and international levels, with a particular focus on European collaborations.
The successful candidate will be expected to initiate and contribute to applications for external research funding and to play an active role in developing new research and collaborative projects.
The position also includes contributing to the Department's research-related administrative work. This involves preparing and coordinating matters within GPCC's review committee, steering committee and advisory council, as well as undertaking other assignments that support the research activities of the Centre and the Department.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will have particular responsibility for advancing research and knowledge development in person-centred care in relation to crises, disasters and armed conflict.
The position includes serving as Editor-in-Chief of the report series Acta Universitatis Gothoburgensis - Studies in Person-Centred Care, with responsibility for ensuring its scientific quality and continued development.
The successful candidate is also expected to contribute actively to the development and implementation of person-centred healthcare nationally and internationally, with a particular focus on healthcare governance.
Furthermore, the position includes representing GPCC in strategic collaborative initiatives, including OMTÄNKT, in close collaboration with Samhällsnytta and Experio Lab, and contributing to the development of long-term partnerships with public-sector organisations and other external stakeholders.
Qualifications
Applicants must hold a PhD and be appointed as Associate Professor (Docent) in a social science or health science discipline relevant to the position. Eligibility for appointment as Professor is required, as is documented clinical and academic experience from both Sweden and international settings. Applicants must be a Registered Nurse.
The successful candidate must have extensive knowledge of healthcare administration, healthcare leadership and organisation, and person-centred care. Documented expertise in healthcare preparedness and response in crises, disasters and armed conflict, resilience, capacity building, and collaboration between healthcare organisations is also required.
Excellent written and spoken English is essential. Proficiency in a Nordic language, both written and spoken, is considered an advantage.
Applicants must have good knowledge of Microsoft 365 and experience of working with administrative systems for research and education used within higher education institutions. Experience of statistical software and other research-related software and digital tools is considered meritorious.
