Beskrivning

The University of Gothenburg tackles society's challenges with diverse knowledge. 58 000 students and 6800 employees make the university a large and inspiring place to work and study. Strong research and attractive study programmes attract researchers and students from around the world. With new knowledge and new perspectives, the University contributes to a better future.

At the Institute of Neuroscience and Physiology, at the Sahlgrenska Academy, we conduct research and education covering a wide range of knowledge areas. The institute comprises five different departments: Clinical Neuroscience, Health and Rehabilitation, Pharmacology, Physiology as well as Psychiatry and Neurochemistry.

The Institute of Neuroscience and Physiology invites applications for a fixed-term researcher position at the Department of Pharmacology, within the group for clinical psychopharmacology and psychometrics. The candidate will primarily work with data management, data analysis and data visualisation as part of a research project focused on the treatment of depression.

Duties

The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for a data analysis project, from data processing and analysis to drafting and finalizing manuscripts. The candidate is expected to manage the project independently and report regularly to the research group.

Specific tasks include data management, data analysis and data visualisation in Python, including analyses using machine learning/AI, based on data from clinical studies and registers.

Qualifications

A doctoral degree in medical science is required. Documented experience working with Python and/or within machine learning/AI is considered a strong merit. As the work involves handling and analysing data containing Swedish medical terminology, medical training, such as a medical degree or equivalent, is considered meritorious. We also expect documented experience working in accordance with Good Clinical Practice. Previous postdoctoral research experience in psychopharmacology or related research fields is desirable.

The applicant should have good collaboration and communication skills. Good oral and written proficiency in both Swedish and English is required, as parts of the data will be in Swedish. Great importance will be placed on personal suitability.

Employment

The employment is limited (temporary) for 5,5 months, 100% of full-time, and is placed at the Institute of Neuroscience and Physiology. Starting date: as soon as possible or as agreed.
