Description

We are looking for an experienced Telematics Product Area Lead / Product Owner to take end-to-end ownership of a product area within the connected vehicle and telematics domain.

In this role, you will combine product ownership, technical leadership, system integration, and hands-on engineering expertise to drive the development and continuous improvement of next-generation connected vehicle services.

You will work across the complete connected vehicle ecosystem, connecting cloud/backend services, vehicle platforms, telematics control units, in-vehicle systems, and mobile applications.

As Product Area Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring that the product area has a clear direction, well-defined priorities, and strong alignment between business requirements and technical execution. You will work closely with backend, vehicle software, mobile application, infrastructure, testing, and other engineering teams to ensure reliable and seamless end-to-end functionality.

The role requires a strong understanding of telematics architecture and connected vehicle services, combined with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive complex topics from requirements through implementation, integration, validation, and production.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in telematics, connected vehicles, system integration, system validation, or a related automotive domain.
• Strong understanding of connected vehicle and telematics architecture.
• Experience working with system integration and End-to-End validation.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and communication flows.
• Experience troubleshooting complex integration issues across multiple systems.
• Experience with APIs and API testing.
• Experience with backend logs and distributed-system troubleshooting.
  Familiarity with monitoring and log-analysis tools
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working in Agile and cross-functional engineering environments.
• Experience working with distributed and international teams.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Job responsibilities

• Take end-to-end ownership of the telematics product area, including product vision, roadmap, priorities, backlog, and delivery, ensuring alignment with customer, business, and technical objectives.
• Translate customer and business needs into clear product requirements and priorities, balancing new feature development, technical improvements, quality, risks, dependencies, and delivery timelines
• Act as the key link between backend, cloud, vehicle software, TCU/TCAM, IVI, mobile applications, testing, architecture, and other engineering teams to ensure effective collaboration and alignment.
• Drive technical discussions and system-level decisions, using strong knowledge of connected vehicle architecture and the interaction between backend services, vehicle systems, and mobile applications.
• Lead the integration of connected vehicle and telematics services across the complete ecosystem, ensuring reliable communication and functionality between backend systems, vehicle platforms, ECUs, and mobile applications.
• Define and drive appropriate integration, system, and E2E validation activities, ensuring adequate test coverage, quality assessment, defect prioritization, and release readiness.
• Lead the investigation and resolution of complex cross-functional issues by analyzing system behavior, APIs, communication flows, backend logs, databases, and distributed system interactions.
• Take responsibility for the complete product lifecycle from requirements and development through integration, release, production deployment, and operational follow-up, ensuring stable and reliable connected services.
• Provide technical and product leadership, mentor and support team members, facilitate knowledge sharing, drive effective ways of working, and create an environment where cross-functional teams can deliver high-quality results.
