Marketing Lead, Sweden (Malmö-first)Purpose
Growathmein Sweden by building local awareness, demand, and community momentum, starting in Malmö.
As Marketing Lead for Sweden, you will help makeathmevisible, relevant, and exciting to sports communities, organizers, and players. The role starts with a clear focus on Malmö, where you will help build local traction first, then support broader marketing efforts across Sweden over time.
You will do this with close support from the headquarters team in Denmark. This is not a role where you are expected to build everything from scratch on your own. We already have learnings, materials, structure, and a playbook in place. Your role is to execute locally, adapt what works to the Swedish market, and help create momentum on the ground.
What this role actually does
- Help grow awareness of athme in Sweden, starting with Malmö
- Execute local marketing initiatives based on a clear playbook from the headquarters team in Denmark
- Help position athme as the easiest and most relevant way to discover and join sports
- Support local campaigns that drive player demand, event participation, and community growth
- Create and coordinate marketing activities tied to sports communities, organizers, campuses, and local partnerships
- Help produce and localize content for the Swedish market across social media, community channels, and local activations
- Identify what messaging, formats, and channels work best in Malmö and turn those learnings into repeatable growth tactics
- Support launches, activations, and on-the-ground visibility efforts when needed
- Work closely with the city and community side to make sure marketing supports real supply and real local demand
- Collect structured feedback from users, hosts, and communities to improve messaging, campaigns, and product-market fit in Sweden
- Share local market insights with the central team so athme can continue improving its Swedish playbook
- Strong local awareness of athme in Malmö
- Increasing player demand and participation in sports activities on the platform
- Marketing efforts that contribute to recurring usage, referrals, and word of mouth
- Clear evidence of what channels, messages, and local tactics work in Sweden
- A strong foundation for scaling from Malmö into broader Swedish growth
- Smooth collaboration with the headquarters team in Denmark, combined with strong local execution

- You are proactive and take ownership
- No formal experience is required, but relevant experience in student organizations, content creation, social media, events, community building, or startup marketing is highly relevant
- Strong cultural fit if you actively play or follow sports such as football, padel, volleyball, fitness, running, or similar
- You are ideally based in Malmö or know the local market well
- It is a plus if you understand the Malmö-Copenhagen dynamic, but this role is focused on Sweden
This role willstart as an unpaid internship.
The setup is intentionally flexible and designed as a hands-on opportunity to work closely withathmeat an early stage, take ownership, and help drive real local growth in Sweden, starting with Malmö.
You will receive support, guidance, and structure from the headquarters team in Denmark, including access to existing materials, learnings, and a practical playbook. You will not be expected to invent everything from zero.
If you perform well and if operations develop positively, the role canevolve into a paid position over time. This is not guaranteed from the start, but it is a real possibility for someone who proves strong execution, ownership, and fit with the team.
