About the Role

You will help validate complex connected in-car systems in a hands-on automotive environment where testing happens both in real vehicles and, when needed, in lab setups such as HILs. The role combines practical in-car testing with deep troubleshooting across software, electrical systems and user experience, and you will work closely with cross-functional teams to find issues that are difficult to reproduce in less complex environments.

You will spend a significant part of your time in cars, sometimes during longer test expeditions under specific conditions. To succeed, you need to understand how the full system behaves, communicate findings clearly and build strong collaboration with teams across development, workshops and complete vehicle functions. It is a great opportunity if you enjoy hands-on testing close to the product and want to work with advanced infotainment and connected technology.

Job DescriptionYou will perform cross-functional validation of the complete infotainment system and its HMI, with a focus on non-functional testing and issues that are difficult to find outside the full vehicle environment.

You will test new software deliveries in vehicles on a recurring basis and help verify system behavior in realistic conditions.

You will troubleshoot issues end to end, identify where a fault is likely located and collect the right logs to support continued analysis.

You will plan and execute cross-functional test expeditions and adapt testing based on findings in the field.

You will collaborate closely with the In-car Testing Lead, development teams and other stakeholders depending on current test focus.

You will dive deeper into hard-to-reproduce issues and, when needed, re-trigger them in lab environments such as HILs or system subsets.

You will provide weekly summaries and write test analysis and test specifications.

RequirementsYou have a B.Sc. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent experience.

You have documented experience of Automotive and Infotainment.

You are fluent in English, written and spoken.

You have a valid Swedish driver's license.

You understand electrical systems in vehicles and know how to connect test equipment.

You communicate clearly, enjoy cross-functional collaboration and approach obstacles in the field as challenges to solve.

You have a genuine interest in cars and technology in general.

Volvo Cars require that an adequate background check has been completed prior to the start of the assignment, meaning that you, as the supplier, must have conducted the requested level/-s of background check as soon as possible after your candidate has been chosen for the assignment
