Beskrivning

At Epiroc, we aim to produce the world’s greenest machines, using the greenest cells and metals, all for a better planet. We’re leading the way in sustainable mining with battery-electric, zero-emission equipment. Want to be part of this journey?

Join our team

Join an experienced team working close to real machines throughout the entire development process – from early concept and design to testing, validation, and operation. You will have the opportunity to influence your work based on your interests, whether in system design, simulation, or hands-on machine work, while contributing to high-performance motion control solutions.

Your mission

In our Powertrain & Hydraulics team, we develop complete motion control systems and functions for underground drilling rigs. This is a hands-on role where you work close to the machines and take responsibility for the full system from early concept to implementation, testing, and long-term operation.

As a Motion Control Engineer, you will design and develop motion control systems with high requirements on safety, quality and energy efficiency. You will work at both system and component level, with a clear understanding of how each part contributes to overall machine performance. This includes responsibility for components such as hydraulic cylinders, directional valves, hydraulic blocks, hoses, and fittings, while always considering the complete system.

You will develop systems from the ground up and follow them through the entire process, from design to testing and validation on the machine. Being close to the machine is a natural part of the role, ensuring that solutions meet both functional and performance requirements.

The work is mainly project-based and carried out in cross-functional teams, where you contribute to functional development and control strategies. You will collaborate closely with colleagues and stakeholders to continuously improve performance, energy efficiency, and cost.

Your profile

To succeed in this role, you have an analytical and system-oriented mindset, combined with a solid understanding of hydraulics and motion control systems. You are comfortable working across both system and component levels, understanding how to design, combine, dimension, and control different functions to achieve the best balance between performance, energy efficiency, and cost.

You likely have experience in system design, functional development, or similar areas, and a good understanding of how systems behave in real applications. Experience from mobile equipment is considered an advantage, as well as knowledge of control strategies, dynamics, or basic control algorithms.

You have a relevant academic background in engineering or equivalent experience. Just as important, you bring a genuine interest in technology and a curiosity to learn more about the machines, systems, and applications you are working with. You are open to new ideas and enjoy contributing to continuous improvement.

As the work is carried out in projects with both freedom and responsibility, you are comfortable taking ownership of your tasks while collaborating closely with others. The role involves frequent interaction with colleagues and stakeholders, both internal and external, so good communication and interpersonal skills are important.

Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is required, as it is our corporate language. Knowledge of Swedish is considered an advantage.

This position is located in Örebro, Sweden.
