Beskrivning

Do you want to contribute to top quality medical research?
To be a doctoral student means to devote oneself to a research project under supervision of experienced researchers and following an individual study plan. For a doctoral degree, the equivalent of four years of full-time doctoral education is required.
The research group
The position is placed in prof Richard Rosenquist Brandell's research group at the department of Molecular Medicine and Surgery (MMK). The research is focused on exploring key molecular events in hematological malignancies by applying next-generation sequencing and additional state-of-the-art technologies. The group is located at BioClinicum, and includes PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, bioinformaticians and senior scientists. The group works closely with Clinical Genetics and Genomics at Karolinska University Hospital and Clinical Genomics at Science for Life Laboratory.
The doctoral student project and the duties of the doctoral student
Resistance to contemporary therapies remains a major hurdle in the clinical management of chronic lymphocytic leukemia. By combining multi-omics data from different groups of patients responsive or resistant to targeted treatment, and mechanistic studies in cells, including CRISPR screens and spatial proteomics the project aims to decipher novel mechanisms of resistance, dependent or independent of genetic lesions.

The doctoral position is partially funded through strategic funds for doctoral education (KID funding) from Karolinska Institutet.
What do we offer?
A creative and inspiring environment full of expertise and curiosity. Karolinska Institutet is one of the world's leading medical universities.
