Delivery Specialist / Senior Delivery Specialist

About the role

As a Delivery Specialist at Avarda, you will play a key role in delivering successful payment solutions to our merchants across the Nordics and supporting their growth journey toward new markets. You will own and drive merchant implementations from planning to successful go-live, acting as the bridge between our merchants and internal teams across Product, IT, Development, Operations, and Commercial.

The role combines project management, implementation consulting, technical integration coordination, and service management. You will work primarily with mid-sized online retailers, while also supporting some of our most important strategic merchants after launch - helping them integrate Avarda's solutions, optimize their payment experience, and ensure long-term success. You will manage multiple implementation projects simultaneously alongside these ongoing relationships - ideal for someone who enjoys taking ownership, solving complex challenges, and working in a fast-paced fintech environment where you can make a direct impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end merchant onboarding and implementation projects, typically running over several months
• Manage multiple merchant implementations simultaneously while maintaining high quality, transparency, and delivery predictability
• Act as the main delivery partner for merchants, ensuring excellent communication and a smooth implementation experience
• Coordinate collaboration between merchants and internal teams, including Product, IT, Development, Operations, Commercial, and other stakeholders
• Support technical implementation activities, including API integrations, troubleshooting, testing, and release coordination
• Translate merchant business requirements into actionable tasks for technical and operational teams
• Proactively manage delivery risks, dependencies, and blockers to ensure successful and timely delivery
• Ensure a smooth transition from implementation to ongoing service management, then support strategic merchants with continuous improvements that sustain high satisfaction and strong partnerships
• Contribute to improving implementation processes, tools, documentation, and ways of working, sharing insights from merchant interactions to support product and operational development

We are hiring at both the Delivery Specialist and Senior Delivery Specialist level. The core role is the same - we set the level, scope, and mentoring responsibilities based on your experience, so we encourage you to apply whether you are building your delivery career or bringing a track record of leading complex implementations. At the Senior level, you will also take the lead on our most strategic and complex merchant implementations, act as a point of escalation for delivery challenges, and help mentor colleagues and shape how the team works.

Qualifications and Experience

Must-haves

• 2+ years (Delivery Specialist) or 5+ years (Senior Delivery Specialist) of experience in implementation, delivery management, technical project management, customer onboarding, or similar roles - ideally within fintech, payments, banking, SaaS, or e-commerce
• Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and managing customer-facing technology implementations
• Aware of what API integrations involve, comfortable with technical documentation and integration troubleshooting, and able to translate technical concepts into business value
• Strong stakeholder management skills, able to manage multiple priorities while communicating clearly with both technical and business audiences
• A track record of ownership, initiative, and problem-solving in fast-moving environments
• Fluent English required
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience

Nice-to-haves

• A project management or service management background (e.g. certification or hands-on experience such as PRINCE2, Scrum, or ITIL)
• A technical or tech-lead background working hands-on with API integrations
• Experience with Nordic or international merchants, or products expanding into new markets
• Familiarity with agile tools such as Jira or Confluence
• Swedish or Finnish language skills

For the Senior level, a background in project or service management and hands-on experience with API integrations carry particular weight.
