Data Migration & Technical Services Specialist - Veeva Excellence (Consulting)

We are looking for a Data Migration & Technical Services Specialist to join our Veeva Excellence Hub team. In this role, you will work with global Life Sciences clients, supporting complex digital transformation projects across Regulatory, Quality, Clinical, and Safety domains.

You will be responsible for designing and delivering data migration solutions, integrating enterprise systems, and providing technical expertise throughout the implementation lifecycle. Working closely with customers, business stakeholders, solution architects, and project teams, you will ensure successful deployments of Veeva Vault solutions across international organizations.

This role is ideal for a consultant who combines strong technical expertise with a customer-focused mindset and enjoys solving complex data and system challenges in a fast-paced, global environment.

Key Responsibilities

Data Migration & Transformation

• Lead end-to-end data migration activities for Veeva Vault implementation, consolidation, and transformation projects.
• Partner with business stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) within Quality, Regulatory Information Management (RIM), and Clinical domains to define migration strategies and data mapping requirements.
• Analyse source systems, assess data quality, and design mapping specifications between source and target environments.
• Ensure accurate transformation, validation, and reconciliation of regulated content and metadata.
• Identify opportunities for migration process optimisation, automation, and continuous improvement.
• Develop reusable migration assets, frameworks, and tools to improve delivery efficiency and quality.

Technical Services & Solution Delivery

• Design and deliver technical solutions supporting Veeva Vault implementations and related business processes.
• Develop and support integrations between Veeva Vault and enterprise applications.
• Lead technical workstreams and take ownership of integration delivery from design through deployment.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance on system architecture, migration methodologies, and integration best practices.
• Collaborate closely with global project teams to ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction.
• Contribute to the development of custom solutions using Veeva Vault SDK, APIs, and other supporting technologies where required.

Consulting & Client Engagement

• Act as a trusted advisor to clients throughout project delivery.
• Collaborate with global cross-functional teams across Europe, North America, and Asia-Pacific.
• Facilitate technical discussions with business and IT stakeholders.
• Provide effort estimations, risk assessments, and migration planning recommendations.
• Support clients during cutovers, go-live, and hypercare activities.

Development & Technical Design

• Design and develop custom solutions
• Create technical specifications, design documentation, and implementation guides.
• Apply Agile and Scrum methodologies to ensure high-quality and predictable delivery.
• Contribute to technical best practices, reusable assets, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering, technical consulting, data migration, or enterprise application delivery.
• Proven experience delivering Quality, RIM, Clinical, or other regulated-content migration projects.
• Strong understanding of data mapping, data transformation, migration validation, and reconciliation processes.
• Experience working as a consultant in customer-facing environments.
• Strong project coordination and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to independently lead migration or integration workstreams.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across business and technical teams.
• Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities for process optimisation and continuous improvement.
• Positive, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset with a strong customer focus.
• Strong team-player mentality and willingness to support colleagues in achieving project success.
• Fluent in English

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with applications in Veeva Quality, RIM and/or Clinical.
• Hands-on experience with Quality and/or RIM migrations.
• Clinical migration experience will also be considered highly relevant.
• Experience with Alteryx or similar data transformation and migration tools.
• Experience with Python for data processing, automation, or migration support activities.
• Experience with Java/JEE/J2EE technologies and object-oriented design principles.
• Hands-on experience with Veeva Vault SDK development.
• Experience designing and implementing enterprise system integrations.
• Knowledge of REST APIs, ETL tools, cloud technologies, XML, JSON, and SQL.
• Understanding of GxP-regulated environments and validation requirements.

As an Epista Data Migration & Technical Services Specialist, you'll be working at the intersection of compliance and business as a part of our highly skilled and dedicated team. You'll be involved in a wide variety of projects, primarily focusing on designing and delivering data migration solutions, integrating enterprise systems, and providing technical expertise.

Much of your time will be spent with our clients - international pharma and medical technology companies. Your daily activities might include:

• Work with Quality, Regulatory (RIM), and Clinical SMEs to define migration strategies and ensure accurate mapping between source and target systems.

• Lead end-to-end Data Migration activities, including data extraction, transformation, validation, reconciliation, and loading.
• Use tools such as Alteryx, SQL, Python, or other migration technologies to transform and prepare data for migration.
• Develop and optimise migration utilities and automation solutions
• Support or develop Veeva Vault SDK-based solutions and custom technical components where needed.
• Design, build, and implement integrations between Veeva Vault and external enterprise systems.
• Independently manage and coordinate migration or integration workstreams while collaborating with wider project teams.
• Engage directly with customers in a client-facing consulting role, listening carefully to business needs and translating them into practical, scalable solutions.
• Identify opportunities for process optimisation, automation, and continuous improvement throughout the project lifecycle.
• Work closely with global teams across Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific to deliver successful outcomes.
• Support testing, deployment, go-live, and hypercare activities.
